I live in Cleveland County and haven't heard of Elizabeth Doak but I'll check around. I do know of a Louise Doak who lives in Jefferson County. She is the lady who spearheads the honoring of War of 1812 veterans. I very much appreciate your messages to yourself Jann. :) I spoke with Diane White, president of the Cleveland County Historical Society and she wishes to use your articles in the next newsletter. Having said that, let me inform everyone there is one, and that they would love to have new members and input. They are currently trying to obtain a building to house a county museum. Diane, tell them about it........... I would also like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to attend the Cleveland County Pioneer Craft Festival, March 18 and 19. It is held at the Pioneer Village in Rison. They have several restored buildings from yesteryear. Along with crafts, they conduct tours of the old buildings, wagon rides for the kiddies, have country food galore, and live entertainment. Many people with county ties use that as an excuse to "come back home" so to speak, and meet with friends and family. If you would like more information and directions, give me a yell.
