A small ledger book in the Bradley Co. Courthouse contains several articles of interest pertaining to Cleveland Co. Thought I would post the ones I copied. State of Arkansas, County of Bradley: Know all men that we L.A. Childress as principal and John P. McCullock as security are held and firmly bound to the State of Arkansas in the penal sum of five hundred dollars good and lawful money for the payment of which well and truly, we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and Administrators as witness our hand and seal. Signed L.A. Childress John P. McCullock 12th Nov, 1861 The condition to the above bond is such that whereas L.A. Childress is this day appointed constable of Redland Township in Bradley County. Now if said L.A. Childress shall discharge the duties of said office faithfully and in accordance with the laws of the State of Arkansas then this bond shall be void otherwise to remain in full force and effect. E.P.
