If I had gone through all the things I copied while in Warren, I would have found my answer regarding Vints/Vince Bluff and a Ferry being there early on. Ferry Bond of W.J. Barksdale Know all men by these present that we, William J. Barksdale, principal and J.R. Barnett and W.N. Wheeler as his securities are held and firmly bound unto the State of Arkansas, County of Bradley, in the sum of Five hundred dollars, the payment whereof well and truly be made we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, and administrators by these present. Conditioned that whereas William J. Barksdale has petitioned the County Court for License to keep a public ferry on the Saline River known as Vints Bluff Ferry. Now if the said William J. Barksdale shall well and truly perform all the duties of Public Ferriman as aforesaid for the year AD 1873 in the manner prescribed by Law and keep or cause to be kept the public ferry at Vints Bluff as the law requires, then this bond shall be void otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
