Ark. Gazette 1896: New Edinburg, Jan 1 - Mr. James T. Hunter, an honored citizen of this place, died this morning of hemmorrage of the lungs. Mr. Hunter was a native of North Carolina. The new year opens with a good prospect for the farmers, "hogs and hominy" abound to profusion while debts have been decreased to a very large extent. Our merchants have made fine collections and money is more plentiful than for many years. The holidays passed quietly, without accident, and only one wedding, something unusual here, that of Mr. Ira Smith to Miss Livingston. Jan. 11, 1896, Warren - From a private letter it is learned that Judge W. T. Hollis, of Orlando, Cleveland County, and Mrs. L. P. Newton, of Hamburg, were married on the 7th inst., at the residence of Mrs. S. Moates, near Portland, Ark., Rev. J. P. Tompson officiating. They will be at home to their friends on the farm near Portland. The couple have known each other from youth - in early life were sweethearts - and have each been thrice married. They drifted apart, but now are happily wedded in the evening of life. The many friends of both parties extend to them their congratulation and wishes for many years of happiness in their new relation. July, 22, 1896, Kingsland: Mr. J. H. Hall, who has been quite sick for several days, is reported much better. J. E. Martin's new livery stable is now about completed, and will be the best and most conveniently located of any in the city. Capt. Joe Gray, of the northwestern portion of the county, was in town last week. Miss Lizzie Hobson, one of the most beautiful and accomplished young ladies of this city, is now the efficient cashier of the large mercantile establishment of E. R. Buster. The Shaderach Lumber Company is the style of a firm recently commencing the manufacturing of lumber at this place. The firm is composed of reliable and successful business men. The capacity of the mill is 40,000 feet a day. [does anyone know where this business was located?] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yes Diann! This virus is very very prolific! I received the exact same virus with different headings each time, about five times from one email address. Then again about 8 times from another single address. I imagine people see this personalized message in the body and think it's just fine. I had seen a warning and fortunately, deleted all the messages without opening. Everyone out there, be very careful!
