Hi, I am interested in any information about Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in New Edinburg, AR. Look-ups, etc. I would love to have a picture of the church, does anyone have a digital picture that can be e-mailed? My ancestor Joseph Lessley, his wife Mary Rebecca, and several of his daughters are burried their. I already have a transcription of their tombstones but I do not have any information from Church Records. I understand that this Church has been dissolved. I would greatly appreciate any information about this Church, family, and community. Annabel Ballew http://www.mscomm.com/~ballew/home.htm

HELLO My name is Cristal Simmons and I am researching my mother's family who came from Cleveland Co. I am happy that someone created this list as I have been waiting for a while :). I have been researching to almost 20 years, since I was a teen. My mother was born in 1938 in Kedron, Cleveland Co. AR. Her family names are Stocker, Barker, Jackson, Ederington, Broughton, Taliferro (Toliver), Townsend, York. I am also researching several other families that were neighboring them. I am researching both the white and black families with these names. I will post a more detailed description in a few days. In the meantime I wanted to say hello. Cristal Simmons Chicago

I'm new to the list and I haven't seen much activity, but I'll toss my names out and see if anyone has a match. I'm looking for Fergusons, Ashcrafts, McLendons, and Nichols families. They were in the Rison area during the 1800s and there are several family members buried in Prosperity Cemetery outside of Rison. If anyone else has anyone from these families, please let me know. Thanks, Amy

Hi Pat, Not sure if these are your Reed's or not. But listed in the Friendship Cemetery records are the following: John H. Reed, born, 2/11/1872 died, 7/2/1948 T. B. Reed, born, 12/03/1890 died, 11/06/1962 William T. Reed, born 1850 died, 1936 There are several other Reed's listed also, but these were the only ones that may be a possible match of the names you listed. Do you know what area of the county they lived? If you think this may be your line, let me know and I will send a list of the other Reed's listed in this cemetery. Friendship Cemetery is located about 22 miles south of Pine Bluff down Highway 15, then turn east for another 1 1/2 miles. It is located near the Woodlawn Community, in Cleveland County. Cleveland County is full of Reed families! Hope this information is helpful. Diane B.
