    3. The Piggott Times, 5/27/1998 Lemial Devoe "Red" NICHOLS, 82, died May 17, 1998, in St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born July 29, 1915, the son of the late Jesse Edgar NICHOLS and Mettie YOUNG NICHOLS, who were farms in the Piggott area. He was formerly of the Piggott area and graduated from Piggott High School. He served in the Navy during World War II with combat duty in the Pacific Ocean area. He graduated from Lawrence Technical Institute in Detroit, Mich. He was retired from General Motors in Detroit. He and his wife were living in St. Petersburg, Fla., at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mary BROTHERS NICHOLS of St. Petersburg, Fla.,; Mary's daughter, Marge BROTHERS YACUONE, of South Gate, Mich.; two brothers, Jesse E. NICHOLS, Jr., of Piggott, and Gerald H. NICHOLS of Hot Springs; and two sisters, Bernice NICHOLS JOHNSON of Piggott and Mathel NICHOLS JOHNSON of Searcy. Funeral and memorial services plans are incomplete. His burial will be in the Wayne, Mich., area.
