Charlotte, This may not be relevant to your Lewis family at all,but thought I would pass it along, In the 1906,,Historical and Genealogical abstracts from Randolph County,AR., Newspapers,it states that: #1- John Lewis and Wife of Walnut Ridge, visited Family in Pocahontas,July 13,1906 issue. #2-J,N. Lewis ,has decided to return to his farm in Randolph County,;he came to be with his sons, but john moved to Pine Bluff to work, and Everett will attend medical school in Memphis. #-3 -There is also a couple of mentions of a Lee Lewis, and lots of other Lewis persons mentioned. Barbara
Hi Barbara; Thank you for checking. I will look into those Lewis's some more. I was told that Sarah France Snider Lewis died giving birth to my grandmother in Feb of 1906. But I don't know that for sure. So I am looking into everything. I can find no record of her after my grandmother's birth and she is not on the 1910 census with John and the two girls. So I am assuming that she did died sometime after my grandmother was born. It just may not have been exactly when she gave birth. Pus, I am trying to find out who John Richard Lewis's parents were. I have a huge brick wall there. Thank you very much for this information. Any little bit helps.
