He was born around 1888. He married Cora E. Bradley or Adams and they had my grandmother Barbara Ruth Hackney. At the time of the birth which took place in Texas, Ben Hackney was in LEMMONS, AK. It is mistakenly listed as Lemmons, Missouri on my grandmother's birth certificate! The Certificate lists his birthplace as Missouri but that might also really be Arkansas. I don't know why he wasn't at the birth. I have considered that Cora and Ben didn't actually marry. She had two daughters by a previous marriage (to Walter Adams.) I have heard that Ben was good with Horses, he may have been a horse trainer, breeder or vet. He may have had two brothers. As you can see, I have very little to go on. My grandmother didn't know her father. He died "in a mental institution" according to her. He may have had Alzheimer's. I am interested because it is a mystery but also because of the medical implications. Unfortunately, I can! not find Cora, Barbara or Ben on any census records! Thank you so much and blessings!
