    3. Recent obits taken from the Clay County Courier, Corning, Clay County, Arkansas. EVA SMITH Eva SMITH, Datto, was born in Paragould, July 4, 1914 to John and Elmer McGOWAN ARANT. She died in her home Nov. 16, 2006 at the age of 92. A retired restaurant owner, she was a membrer of Church of Christ. Survivors are two sons, Amos GOODMAN, Flint, MI and James H. GOODMAN, St. Petersburg, FL; two daughters, Wilma J. TENNANT, Biggers and Brenda MURRAY, Datto; two brothers, Johnie ARANT, Biggers and Roy ARANT, Jonesboro; two sisters, Dolly RICE, Paragould and Irene THORNBURG, California; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 16 gret-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Amos GOODMAN (Nov. 30, 1995) and Barney SMITH (Jan. 30, 2001); four sons, William, H.C., H.D. and David GOODMAN; sister, Sunshine ARANT. Services Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 in Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Johnie ARANT officiating. Burial in Corning Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. EUGENE BAUSCHLICHER Eugene BAUSCHLICHER was born in Corning July 9, 1929 to Christopher Louis and Mary Juanita ALLMANDINGER BAUSCHLICHER. He died in his home Monday, Nov. 20, 2006. He was 77 years of age. A member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Corning, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army in Korea and a farmer. A collector of antique farm machinery, he was a past president of Clay County Farm Bureau and served on their board of directors 40 years. For 22 years he was on Riceland Foods Board of Directors. October 18, 1953 he married the former Luanna Laura FISCHER and she survives. Other survivors are, one son, David (Lynn) BAUSCHLICHER, Corning; one brother, Wayne BAUSCHLICHER, Corning; two grandsons, Chris and Will BAUSCHLICHER. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Mary BAUSCHLICHER. Services Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Corning, with Pastor Joh BISCHOF officiating. Burial in Corning Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. JEAN HUGGINS Jean HUGGINS, Russellville, formerly of Corning was born July 12, 1928 to Robert and Della Mae WHITE SEAGRAVES. She died in Stella Manor Nursing Home, Russellville, Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006. She was 78. A member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church of Corning, she was retired from Corning School District. Survivors include one son, Gary E. (Pam) HUGGINS, Russellville; two daughters, Judy K. (John) VANKLEEF, Russellville and Pamela J. (James) MANATT, Pagosa Springs, CO; son-in-law Mike ESSARY, Poplar Bluff, MO; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margie DAVIS and Jerlean WHITLEDGE; three brothers, George, Chester and Fred STALLINGS; and a daughter, Diana Mae HUGGINS ESSARY. KOMEN Breast Cancer Foundation. JOHN M. EDINGTON, JR. John Marion EDINGTON, JR.; Reyno was born in Old Reyno Oct. 6, 1926 to John Marion Sr. and Dollie CARNAHAN EDINGTON. He died in St. Bernard's Medical Center Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006. He was 80 years of age. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as Postmaster. Survivors include two sons, Stanley EDINGTON, Reyno and J.M. EDINGTON, III, Corning; one daughter, Angelia CARLTON, Reyno; one step son, Randy ANIS, Pocahontas; two step daughters, Judy MURRAY, Delaplaine and Pam ANIS, Pocahontas; two sisters, Opal JOHNSON, Arnold, MO and Jewell MORROW, Corning; 6 grandchildren and 4 gret-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and one step gret-grandson. BARBARA SUE BURNS Barbara Sue BURNS, Corning, was born in Knob May 23, 1933 to Robert and Eugenia HUCKABAY. She died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 in Jonesboro. She was 73. She was a United Methodist and worked as a CNA at Corning Nursing Home. Survivors are three sons: Cleatus D. BURNS, Columbia, TN, Edward H. BURNS, Corning, Robert W. BURNS, Lafe; one daughter Sherlie Ann HARMON, Lafe; one sister, Elba MASSEY, Flint, MI; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleatus H. BURNS; brother, Wendell O. HUCKABAY, sister, Genell HUCKABAY; grandson, Nicky BURNS. A lifelong resident of the Qulin-Naylor area, she died in her Poplar Bluff residence Nov. 8, 2006 at the age of 59. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Harviell, Rebecca's Lodge and American Legion and worked for Mo-Ark Mold Co. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul N. and Lorean SOMERS PICKARD; sister Phyllis PICKARD and first husband, Richard "Dickie Joe" PENNINGTON, who died Jan. 1995. She married Richard A. FRANLKIN Dec. 30, 2005 and he survives. She died in a Jerseyville, IL nursing home Nov. 8, 2006. She was 89. August 20, 1930 she married Elbert A. HORNE, who preceded her in death in 1952.
