Surnames: brinker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GV.2ADE/1913.1 Message Board Post: hi, this is about j.m. local barber looking after the interests of f.e. mcCary who had bought an interest in the ok barber shop from o. e. smith. mr. mcCarty was in insurance. this was jan.-07-1916. page 22 was the same story. on mar-10-1916 it said j. m. returned home from naylor, mo. where his wife was ill in her brother's home. april-07-1916 it said j. m. who had worked for six months in the ok barber shop is now buying and hauling shells for black river button co. renee my husband said they went out of business in the fifty's. they are refering to mussel shells. they made buttons out of them. they were called mother of pearl. i think they they are very pretty. people still gather them from the river. now they are sent to japan. they are crushed and put into oysters to make cultured pearls. linda
