He died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in Corning. He was 82. A member of Grassylead Church of Christ, he was a veteran and retired from Basler Electric. June 12, 1948 he married Glenda Pearl CAVENAR CARTER and she survives. Other survivors include one son, Dennis (Sandra) CARTER, Macon, GA; one daughter, Janice (Jim) PRATER, Corning; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Jane CARTER and brothers, Burl and Willard CARTER. Services Thursday, September 14, 2006 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel. Burial in Corning Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. JENNIE WOODWARD Jennie WOODWARD, Success, was born in McDougal August 30, 1030 to R.R. REEVES and Mary Ellen MADDUX KASSINGER and died Saturday, September 30, 2006 in her residence. She was 76. December 12, 1957 she married Earl WOODWARD. She was of the Baptist faith and served as a foster parent for impaired children. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, October, 3, 2006 at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home, Corning. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah YANDELL, Corning and Patricia BLEDSOE, Datto; 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl WOODWARD who died May 11, 1996 and one grandson, Terry Lee CROUCH. ALETA MAE SANSOUCIE Aleeta Mae SANSOUCIE, Poplar Bluff, was born April 3, 1946 in Harviell, MO to Roy Burton ARCHER and Sylvia Irene SLOAN ARCHER and died Friday, September 29, 2006 in Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was 60. December 25, 1965 she married Chris Michael SANSOUCIE in Harviell, MO who preceded her in death, March 1, 2006. She was a member of Westside Church of God and Naylor, MO Eastern Star. Survivors include one daughter, Debra (Bradley) NEIGHBORS, Poplar Bluff, MO; four sisters, Violet THURMAN, Jonesboro, Noveda BURNETT, Cape Girardeau, Alta SANSOUCIE, Poplar Bluff, MO and Wanda ARCHER, St. Louis, MO; one granddaughter, Gracie NEIGHBORS; several nieces and nephews. MARY ANN COX Mary Ann COX, Ellsinore, MO died in her home in Ellsinore, Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at the age of 54 years. A homemaker, she married Kenneth COX Sept. 4, 1984 in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed flowers, hunting, fishing, reading and her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of the home; four daughters, Mary Alice TAYLOR, Paris,TN, Velva JARVIS, Ellsinore, MO, Lisa COX, Poplar Bluff, MO and Rebecca COX, Ellsinore, MO; one brother, Ellis "Squirt" JARVIS and ; and 11 grandchildren. Family visitation was conducted Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 in Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Neelyville. DANNA REEVES HEWLETT Danna Fae REEVES HEWLETT was born in Corning, May 2, 1046 to O.M. "Shorty" and Gladyce REEVES. She died Sept. 17, 2006 in St. Edwards Mercy Hospital, Fort Smith. She was 60 years old. She was of the Baptist faith and is survived by two children, Terry HEWLETT and Tracy MONTEMAYER; four grandchildren, Ethen and Lindsey HOLE, Jaden and Jordan MONTEMAYER; two brothers, Thomas REEVES, Kansas and Rae REEVES, Eureka, MO; three sisters, Dell BELL, Greenbrier, Lynnette RICKER, Protem, MO and Mae STORMES, Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linda REEVES BOYD Funeral services at Lewis Funeral Home, Fort Smith. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. She died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould. She was 86. A self-employed seamstress, she was of the Pentecostal faith. On November 7, 1936 she married Raymond PACE, who died April 11, 1995. Survivors include one sister, Clara MELTON, Walnut RIdge and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 in the chapel of Ermert Funeral Home with Lavern REED officiating. Burial in Hitt Cemetery under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. VIRGINIA WALKER Virginia WALKER, 87 of Jacksonville, died Sept. 21, 2006 in the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. She was born August 6, 1919 in Hubbell, MI to the late Jerry and Virginia BURNETT SLATTERY. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman WALKER, six brothers and sisters and a great-grandson, Braden RICHIDELLA. Virginia was a 1st Sgt. in the U.S. Army and served during World War II.Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Grteg) WEATHERBY, and Sharon COX all of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Natalie (Sam) SCOTTO, Jacksonville, Tracey COX and her fiance', Chris of Little Rock, Wesley SIEGMAN, Shawn SIEGMAN and his fiancee' A'Nyseian and Amber OWEN, all of Jacksonville; one great-grandson, Mason SIEGMAN; and numerous nieces and nephews and other friends and family.Graveside services were conducted Monday Sept. 25, 2006 in Corning Cemetery with Father Charles THESSING officiating. LARRY WALLACE Larry WALLACE, Alton, MO was born May 6, 1926 near Alton, MO and died Sept. 22, 2006 in his home. He was 80 years of age. Wallace graduated from the Alton High School and at the age of 18, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in WW II from 1944 - 1946. After his discharge from the service, Larry pursued his dream of owning his own retail store. With very little money and no real skills, he wasn't sure how he could accomplish this, but in 1949 he was able to purchase his first grocery and feed store in Alton. In 1955, Kelly OWENS joined the business and WALLACE and OWENS Stores began. Wallace was baptized in Nov. 1960 and united with the Alto Freewill Baptist Church, becoming ordained as a deacon in 1967. He enjoyed singing and at times leading the church choir. On July 27, 1951, he married Mildred OWENS who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Steven OWENS, Malden, MO and Rich (Teresa) OWENS, Alton; six grandchildren, Angela FRENCH, amy DUCKWORTH, amanda LAYNE, Ashli WALLACE, Hannah WALLACE and Allison WALLACE; three great-grandchildren, Molly, Julianna and Ben FRENCH; two sisters-in-laws, Lois and Evelyn WALLACE, both of West Plains, MO. Preceded him in death were his parents, Newman and Martha HODGES WALLACE, three sisters and four brothers. Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 in Alton Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles TRANTHAM officiating. Burial with Rev. Garland BARTON officiating, will be in Huddleston Cemetery, under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
