He died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in his home. He was 67. Owner/Manager of Success Grain, Inc., he was a member of First Baptist Church of Success, Mayor of Success and a board member of Hitt Cemetery. He married the former Mary Lou GOSSETT, December 10, 1960 in Naylor. She survives. Other survivors are one son, J.Todd (Robin) BERRY, Pocahontas; one daughter, Glenna Sue (Doug) LANE, Success; one sister, Ellen ROACH, Syracuse, NY; one brother, Jim BERRY, Sikeston, MO; five grandchildren, Alex, Libby, Tristan, Ma'Kel and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe BERRY (1987) and Helen BERRY (1974). Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 12 in First Baptist Church of Success with Matt MOORE officiating. Burial in Hitt Cemetery under the direction of Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hitt Cemetery. BEATRICE SOMERS Beatrice "Brown" SOMERS, Wright City, MO. was born in Corning August 6, 1932 to Arthur Eugene and Susie Elsie COY BROWN. She died May 9, 2007 in Warrenton Missouri Manor Nursing Home. She was 74. She was of the Protestant faith. October 19, 1956 she married Clyde Freeman SOMERS. He preceded her in death May 4, 1962. Survivors are two daughters, Patricia Darlene SOMERS, Warrenton, MO and Beatrice Geraldine EPLEY, Wright City, MO; three brothers, Arthur "Pete" BROWN, Poplar Bluff, MO, Dan BROWN, Springfield, MO and Lonnie BROWN, Warrenton, MO; one sister, Mae WILLIS, Marked Tree. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, one son, Clyde R. SOMERS; two brothers, James BROWN and Baby Boy BROWN; three sisters, Patricia BROWN, Christine MASON and Nettie PARKS. RICHARD MERIDETH Richard MERIDETH, Knobel, was born in Louisville, KY, June 18, 1957 to Leroy and Georgia Mae MANCO MERIDETH. He died May 9, 2007. He was 49 years old. A veteran of the U.S. Army (full military service), he was a farmer for CRIDER Farms. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Cecilia Collette ARCHER MERIDETH, August 21, 1999 and she survives. Other survivors , two stepsons, Denny (Candace) ARCHER, Knobel, Chris (Shannon) ARCHER, Paragould, Mother and step-father, Georgia and Rudolph FORD, Thompkinsville, KY; one brother, Steve (Belinda) MERIDETH, Louisville, KY; one sister, Peggy (Bill) HICKS, Louisville, KY; two step-grandchildren, Meghan and Hunter ARCHER, Paragould; five nieces and nephews, Denia and Steve MERIDETH, Jeremy MERIDETH, Michael and Kasey HICKS all of KY; several sisters and brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy MERIDETH. Kelsey VALLANCE officiating. Burial under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home of Corning. IRENE MEANS Alma Irene PRYOR MEANS, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007. She was 91. A 1935 graduate of North Little Rock High, she became a registered nurse at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, then continued her education at Vanderbilt University. She was a nurse for more than 65 years and worked in Arkansas, Georgia and Ohio. She was a Diretor of Nursing at Corning Nursing Home for many years and served as Randolph County Health Nurse. She was a representative for the Tuberculosis Association and was instrumental in establishing support groups for the Mentally Handicapped Association of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Red" MEANS; three sisters, Sue BRINK, Pauline PANTETT, "Coe" CAPLE. Survivors are one daughter, Sherry SHERWOOD of Little Rock; one brother, Bill PRYOR, Cabot; three nieces, Paula JOHNSON and Faye ARCHER, Little Rock and Ramona HATLEY, Maumelle; two nephews, Lavon PRYOR, Cabot and Gerald FITZGERALD, Benton. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 19, in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home, Pocahontas with Sherman WATERS officiating. Burial in Randolph Memorial Gardens. RODNEY RAPERT Rodney RAPERT, Corning, was born in Paragould, April 24, 1970 to Richard Lavern and Martha Rosemary TIPTON RAPERT. He died in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould, Friday, May 18, 2007. He was 37. Affiliated with First Assembly of God Church, Corning, he was employed as an inspector pacer fro Gerdau Amersteel, Paragould. Hobbies including hunting, fishing, Nascar and riding four-wheelers. August 27, 2004 he married his wife, Erica Leann TYLER RAPERT and she survives. Other survivors are three sons, Rodney Lee RAPERT and David Ray RAPERT of the home, Derric Blaine RAPERT, Corning; stepmother, Thelma RAPERT, Peach Orchard; three brothers, Steve RAPERT, Peach Orchard, James HINKLE, Delaplaine and Wesley SOLLIS, Pocahontas; three sisters Dixie CONWAY and Juanita HINKLE both of Peach Orchard and Sandra DECKARD, Pocahontas; in-laws, Gary and Betty TYLER, Poplar Bluff, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Martha RAPERT, son Joshua and brothers, Ricky RAPERT and Franklin Ray RAPERT and sister Sharon DENNING.
