This was in the Clay Co Democrat on July 5, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Camellia "Sue" Cox* Mrs. Camellia "Sue" Cox, 78, of Hamptonville, N.C., a native of Rector and formerly of Jonesboro, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Cox was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Rector to the late Oscar and Hettie Barker. She worked and retired from Atlas Asphalt in Jonesboro, where she was an executive secretary. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Wilson Brown Cox; daughter and son-in-law, Celeste and Tim Tucker; grandchildren, Joyce Tucker, Paul Tucker and James Tucker; sister, Phyllis Gipson; brother, O.J. Barker, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hamptonville by Pastor Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cox will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials can be made to Mountain View Church Building Fund, 1232 Mountain View Church Rd., Hamptonville, NC 27020 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Cox family.
