CARTER Charlie Daniel CARTER of Paragould was born Nov. 13, 1912 in Craighead County to James and Mattie CARTER. He died Tuesday July 3, 2007 in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould. He was 94. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired farmer and member of 10th St. Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters Linda F. (Rick) TURNER and Martha Lee (Kendall) TREECE all of Paragould, one brother Clarence CARTER of Garden City, MI; one sister Dena Mae NIXON of Paragould; two grandchildren, Kendra Lee HOWARD and Ashley Danielle TREECE of Paragould; three step grandchildren, Franklin TURNER of Prairieville, LA and Christi SIMS of Paragould and Toby THACKER of Paragould; four step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Erma Lee CARTER; brother Robert, Grover and Amos CARTER; two sets of twins and a sister Cloyce CARTER. Funeral services were Friday July 6 at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry JOLLY officiating. Burial in New Friendship Cemetery. HELEN CHILDRESS Helen Lorene MYERS CHILDRESS was born in Knobel Sept. 20, 1919 to Thomas and Josephine VERBEL MYERS. She died in Rebsamen Regional Medical Center, Jacksonville, Sunday, July 8, 2007. She was 87. A homemaker who enjoyed reading, sewing and canning preserves, she was of the Methodist faith. June 22, 1936 she married John Nathan CHILDRESS who preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors are one son Larry Anthony CHILDRESS, Cabot; two daughters, Doris Irene CHILDRESS WILSON, Scottsville, KY, Donna Marie CHILDRESS DAVIS Corning; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, several siblings, three daughters Marilyn Patricia CHILDRESS BOLLING, Sullivan, MO, Linda Johneta CHILDRESS FERGUSON, Walcott, Janice Bernice CHILDRESS MOORE, Cash and one granddaughter. Visitation will be in Ermert Funeral Home Thursday, July 12 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services Friday, July 13, 2007 in the chapel of Ermert Funeral Home with Everett HART officiating. BOB RAMER Bobby Joe "Bob" RAMER was born in Knob, June 4, 1943 to Morgan and Lena BURNS RAMER. He died in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, Jonesboro, July 8, 2007. He was 64. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired mechanic of Corning Implement in Corning. He loved cows and pigs, going dancing and playing with his dog, Leroy and his grandkids. Survivors include one daughter Leigh Ann (Terry) SMITH, Corning; one granddaughter Natalie Suzanne Michelle SMITH, Corning; one grandson Brantley Craig SMITH, Corning; one brother Charles RAMER, Knob. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Wesley RAMER of Knob. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
