    2. Ancestry recently added Stars and Stripes Magazine Europe and North African Editions 1942-1952. I found this in the November 20, 1944 edition on page 2 NO BARGAIN THESE DAYS S/Sgt V.D. Woodward, of Rector, Ark, has found that American cigarettes can be swapped for almost anything. While the 30th Infantry Division's 119th Regiment was slugging its way through the Siegfried Line, Woodward's squad captured a German. In a mood to barter, the Jerry offered to trade three more Nazis for three cigarettes. "It's a deal," Woodward said.
