She died Monday, June 25, 2007 in St. Bernards, Jonesboro. She was 59. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, she was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband Steve TATE of the home; one son David GATEWOOD, Draper, UT; one daughter Cheryl MORGAN, Paragould; sister Donna ETCHIESON, Conway; seven grandchildren Bennie CANALES, Breanna, Myka and Trace MORGAN, Brennan GATEWOOD, Brooke KING and Isabella GATEWOOD. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28 in Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Dennis DAVIS officiating. Burial in Woodland Heights Cemeter, Rector. Memorial may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Arkansas. RUBY CARTER Ruby CARTER, Cedar Hill, MO, was born in Pollard to Bob and Virgie BRADISH CARTER June 16, 1919. She died in Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, MO Sunday June 29, 2007. She was 88. She was of the Pentecostal faith. November 9, 1935 she married Arby CARTER who preceded her in death May 5, 1983. Survivors include two sons Robert O. (Shirley) CARTER, Pollard, William CARTER, St. Louis, MO; three daughters Venga RADCLIFF, House Springs, MO, Dorothy WORTH, Cedar Hill, MO and Ann HAM, O'Fallon, MO; one brother Ray Lee CARTER, Galein, MI; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Goldie HOLINGSWORTH. RUTH (CURTIS) BROWN Ruth (CURTIS) BROWN was born February 21, 1922 in Knobel, daughter of Mark Amos and Nettie Opal KENT CURTIS. She died in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould, July 11, 2007. She was 85. Employed by Borg Warner Corp.- Automotive, she was of the Missionary Baptist faith. Survivors are two sons, Travis (Anna) RICE, Port St. Lucie, FL and Dennis (Peggy) RICE, Corning; one daughter Shirley (Loyd) ALEXANDER, Plainfield, IL;; one brother M.A. CURTIS, Knobel; two sisters Bonnie STOLL, Glasgow, KY and Inez (Gene) CLAMPIT, Ann Arbor, MI; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Dexter RICE and five brothers Elfra, Paul Max, Omer, Victor and Don RICE. WILLIAM STAGGS William Clinton STAGGS was born in Hickoria August 15, 1926, one of 10 children of Everett Lee and Mary Catherine SHERRILL STAGGS. He died Sunday, July 8, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, MO. He was 80. He attended Hickoria schools. A veteral of WWII serving with the Air Force 1380 Airborne Div., he moved to St. Louis, MO where he married Ivy Pauline DOWNEY, Sept. 27, 1948. She preceded him in death. He worked for Crown and Cork of Missouri, Sterling Aluminum and Donnelly's Truck Service for 36 years retiring in 1986. He is survived by seven children, John F. STAGGS, Belleville, IL, Eddie R. STAGGS, IL, Patrick D. STAGGS, Mulberry Grove, IL, Michael STAGGS, Granite City, IL, Carol Saunders, Vienna, IL, Joyce Ann STAGGS, Plainview, TX, Kandy STAGGS, Greenville, MO; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers David STAGGS, Corning, Sammy STAGGS, Stillman Valley, IL, and Danny STAGGS, Corning; three sisters Lola of Union, MO, Lela of Poplar Bluff and Vercie of Springfield, IL. He and his wife were foster parents to 70 children over 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers and sisters Gene STAGGS, Merle STAGGS and Lua May SHERRILL. Funeral services were conducted Thursday July 19, 2007 in Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, Mulberry, IL with Rev. Conrad STONE officiating. WILLIAM LORN COBB William Lorn COBB was born June 16, 1937 in Naylor, son of Richard Clyde COBB and Bessie MYERS. He was raised by his stepmother, Myrle OWENS COBB. He died in Arlington, TX, Monday, July 9, 2007. He was 70. He retired from John Deere/Vermilion Iron in 1985 and worked at Lockheed Martin until he retired in 2004. He attended the Nazarene Church. June 19, 1965 he married the former Shirley O'NEAL in Corning. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and stepmother Myrtle OWENS COBB. YANDELL, Neelyville, was born July 13, 1942 in Portageville, MO. He died Tuesday, July 17, 2007. He was 65. Owner of YANDELL Garage in Neelyville, he had operated business in Corning and Moark areas for many years and was a member of Palace of Praise Church, Poplar Bluff, MO. He had served as mayor of Neelyville and a member of Butler County Fire Department. March 18, 1988 he married Sharon Kay HUTCHERSON at Walnut Grove Church near Harviell. She survives. Other survivors are five daughters, Alicia YANDELL, Corning, Sandy ELLIOT, Corning, Rhonda SULLIVAN, Harviell, MO, Lorie CASINGER, Poplar Bluff, MO and Angie WALKER, Murray, KY; three sons, Darren YANDELL and James W. YANDELL both of Corning and Randy MILDE, Neelyville; two sisters, Vada JAMES, Oxly, MO and Marlene NORTON, Wappapello, MO; brothers, Donnie YANDELL, Corning, Danny YANDELL, Doniphan, MO, Larry YANDELL, Corning and Richard YANDELL, Success; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents James Leroy and Sarah (QUALLS) YANDELL; sisters Pat FOX, Mary RAY and Sue HOLT; brothers, Eunis, Roy Lee and Jeff YANDELL.
