    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Baker/Eden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GV.2ADE/1851.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks so much for your help... I probably could have filled in more info but didnt want to overburden my first reply. I was in Kennet last month back for an Eden reunion and went through the records. The marriage book states she was 15 and no one else was listed, we are thinking that maybe her parents were gone in 1874, not sure. I havent had much luck with the 1870 for Baker or Eden, prior to that my Eden's were in Butler Co MO. 1870 is the mystery. Stoddard Co borders Malden MO which is where James and Rachel settled and raised 12 kids and where they are buried. Rachel's death cert was filled out by the youngest son who didnt seem to know much about her family, neither did my ggrandfather. No mothers name listed, William Baker as father. Brother Lee killed by lightning is a family story... may or may not be true I dont know. Death cert showed her middle name as Melvina, my ggrandfather said it was Melvina. One of their daughters was Lilly Mae no Melvina that I know of. Al! l of the children (12) had 4 names as well as their father. She may have had as well. Her obit referenced her as Sarah. Which is strange we have never heard her ref'd as that before. And no mistake it was her obit, ref'd my ggrandfather and others. I did find on 1860 census a W. R. Baker, SAE Baker, M? Baker and K M Baker. I wonder if the KM is supposed to be an RM who was 1 at the time in Greene Co. Would fit. The SAE may have been a Sarah, maybe her mothers name. Was William killed in CW so not on 1870? I also found a William Baker living in cotton Hill twp dunklin co mo near Rachel who came from Greene Co, who had a son named Lee and a daughter with Mae in her name. So I've wondered if he was a brother of Rachel's. She always stated she was born in AR as well as her parents, but that may have been an assumption on her part. I've been researching this line oh for 15 years, and still keep coming up empty handed. Very frustrating line. I've also checked on their kids names ! to see if their were siblings with same names and nothing has come up that way either. Their first child was Wiley named after paternal grandfather, died as infant next was Walter L. ? (L. may have been Lee), Louis J., John M. W., Homer Cleveland, Selulia, Caldonia Sophonia Josephine, Joseph Stevenson, Lilly Mae, Mary S. Charlotte, James Jacob Rollo (my ggrandfather), Reuben Lloyd Earl Eden.

    3. I replied to this message 2 days ago, with what I thought was your family. Did you see the reply? I offered to send you the census records. The father was William, the mother was Sarah and the brother was William L. which could have been Lee.
