Williams Lemuel R. Williams, 84, of Biloxi, Miss., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Williams was born and raised in Piggott and retired in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a worthy patron of the Eastern Star Gulfport Chapter; a member of the Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi; a Mason with East Lodge 504, Fairview Heights, Ill.; and he was a Shriner. Mr. Williams retired after 38 years of combined service, active with both the U.S. Air Force and the federal civil service as a chief master sergeant. During his military career he received many decorations, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and a Presidential Unit Citation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye (nee Kincaid) Williams; and his parents, Claude and Mary (nee Latta) Williams. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. (Mel) Raley of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Mary Jo (Willard) Rogers of Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, Paul Williams of Little Rock and Jo Williams of Burgettstown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Williams also will be missed by his dog, Beau, who was his special friend and a loving companion. A Masonic service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Ill. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 13756 Washington Ave., Gulfport, Miss., 39503; to the American Heart Association, P.O. Williams and Rhonda Philyow, both of Wright City; two brothers, Grady Williams, Wright City, and Johnny Williams, Warrenton; one sister, Betty Gluck, Clayton; one grandson, Aaron Williams; one granddaughter, Amanda Williams; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Pitman-Brown Funeral Home in Wright City. Burial was in the Wright City Cemetery. I am looking for the burial site of Rev. Charles Leonard MARTIN (21 Feb 1903-23 Aug 1992) and his wife Maria WOOD (1904- ????). I suspect they are buried in Bond Cemetery or Purcle.
