Hi Barbara; Thank you for checking. I will look into those Lewis's some more. I was told that Sarah France Snider Lewis died giving birth to my grandmother in Feb of 1906. But I don't know that for sure. So I am looking into everything. I can find no record of her after my grandmother's birth and she is not on the 1910 census with John and the two girls. So I am assuming that she did died sometime after my grandmother was born. It just may not have been exactly when she gave birth. Pus, I am trying to find out who John Richard Lewis's parents were. I have a huge brick wall there. Thank you very much for this information. Any little bit helps. Hi Debbie; I am still looking for my great grandfather, John Richard Lewis/Louis and my gr grandmother Sarah Frances "Frances" Snider Lewis. I was told that she died around Pocahontas in Randolph Co., AR in 1906 from childbirth and wondered if maybe they might both be buried in New Hope. My mother had told me that John was buried in Rocky Hill Cemetery and I think you found a John Lewis buried there and a Jacob Lewis. I was at Rocky Hill last fall and I found a headstone for Jacob Lewis but nothing for John, which doesn't mean he isn't there of course. I am pretty sure that the one you found is him. I know he died in Campbell at my gr aunt, Gracie Agnes Lewis Vinson's, home on May 11, 1933. But I got his DC and on it, it says that he was buried in New Hope Cemetery in AR and on his Funeral record it says he was buried in Pollard AR. So I am trying to find out for sure if he is there or if they decided for some reason at the last minute to bury him in Campbell. And I am trying to find out if that Jacob Lewis buried in Rocky Hill might be John's father also. Or at least related to him. Any help would be appreciated. Surnames: Hackney, Bradley, Adams, Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.clay/3201/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for my great grandfather Ben/Benjamin Hackney. He was born around 1888. He married Cora E. Bradley or Adams and they had my grandmother Barbara Ruth Hackney. At the time of the birth which took place in Texas, Ben Hackney was in LEMMONS, AK. It is mistakenly listed as Lemmons, Missouri on my grandmother's birth certificate! The Certificate lists his birthplace as Missouri but that might also really be Arkansas. I don't know why he wasn't at the birth. I have considered that Cora and Ben didn't actually marry. She had two daughters by a previous marriage (to Walter Adams.) I have heard that Ben was good with Horses, he may have been a horse trainer, breeder or vet. He may have had two brothers. As you can see, I have very little to go on. My grandmother didn't know her father. He died "in a mental institution" according to her. He may have had Alzheimer's. I am interested because it is a mystery but also because of the medical implications. Unfortunately, I can! not find Cora, Barbara or Ben on any census records! Thank you so much and blessings!
