FLOYD DALE SPENCER Floyd Dale SPENCER, Doniphan, was born July 29, 1936 in Hillard, MO. son of Floyd Edward and Mildred Irene SHEHY SPENCER. He died in John J. PERSHING VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, August 4, 2007. He was 70. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a lifelong resident of Butler and Ripley Counties and a carpenter by trade. September 12, 1981 he married Brenda LANE SPENCER and she survives. Other survivors are his children, Richard Dale SPENCER, Indiana, Clarissa BECKER, Dexter, MO, Belinda (Brian) BENINI, Red Lion, PA., Charlene TILLMAN, Doniphan, MO; one sister, Pat (Chester) BEATY, Poplar Bluff, MO; one brother, H.R. (Linda) SPENCER, Poplar Bluff; 7 grandchildren. Graveside services Friday April 6, 2007 at Carola Cemetery near Oglesville, MO under the direction of Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. FRANKLIN HANCE, SR. Franlin HANCE, Sr., Lenexa, KS was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Peach Orchard, son of Clarence and Hazel HANCE. He died Friday, April 6, 2007 in Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was 75. At age 16 he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division where he earned a Silver Star in the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge. He also served in Vietnam with the 1st. Cavalry Division and fought in the Battle of Ia Drang Valley with the 7th Cavalry. He retired from the Army in 1974 as a Command Sergeant Major with 26 years service with the Silver Star, five Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge and other awards. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service since 1983. He married Letha PEMBERTON April 22, 1952 in Datto. Survivors include his wife, Letha HANCE of the home; three sons, Franklin (Donna) HANCE, Jr., Milton, VT, Clarence Allen (Peggy) HANCE, Olathe, KS, Terry (David) SAUNDERS SAUNDERS, Olathe, KS; one sister Betty BROWNFEL, Corning; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Don HANCE and one brother, Jack HANCE. Services Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in Prince of Peace Mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. A graduate of Corning High School and Arkansas State University, she began teaching school in Knobel in 1934, also teaching at Allbright School and Neelyville Elementary where she retired in 1977 with a total of 43 years of teaching. She was active in music and volunteer programs in several area United Methodist Churches and was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Fruitland, Florida. Survivors are two children, James L. SCHIMMING, Lady Lake, FL, and Mary Beverly WRIGHT, Oceanside, CA.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Fred SCHIMMING, Sr. who she married in Nov. 1935. He died April 13, 1968. She married Ewell CAMPANIOTTE August 10, 1974 and he died June 1985. He was the loved son of Scott LUYE and Sally ATTEBERY NOSSETT. Logan was a life-long student of Naylor Elementary School. He enjoyed school to its fullest and was loved and admired by teachers and fellow classmates. Logan spent much of his free time drawing comics, playing on the internet, reading, riding four-wheelers and fishing with his dad. He and his brother liked to ride bikes and skateboards. FAY FOLEY CLARK Fay FOLEY CLARK, Kennewick, WA, a former resident of Peach Orchard, was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Independence County to Maggie and Eugene FOLEY. She had a twin brother, Ray and six other siblings and grew up in Peach Orchard. She died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Kennewick, WA. She was 95. In 1933 she married Durell CLARK and was a member of the Kennewick Baptist Church. He preceded her in death. She published a book, "The Innocent Trap" in the Spring of 2007. Proceeds from this book established a lending library for preschoolers at the Boys and Girls Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durell CLARK; one son, Max Ray, her parents and six siblings. Funeral services were Saturday, April 28 in Kennewick Baptist Church. Donations may be made to TriCities Chaplaincy Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, WA. LAFIE JONES Lafie JONES, Hardy, died Tuesday, April 27, 2007. He was 84. Survivors include his wife, Esther (WEESE) JONES of the home; two step daughters, Martha MARKUM, Paragould and Juanita POUGE, Ravenden; one sister, Annabell SPIES, Lapeer, MI; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services Friday, April 27 in Heath Oak Hill Chapel. Burial in Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat under the direction of Heath Funeral Home, Highland. LOIE FRAINE Loie FRAINE was born in Knobel, Januray 15, 1934 to George Taylor FRAINE and Della ARCHER FRAINE. He died in Piggott Community Hospital, April 29, 2007. He was 73. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a ag-pilot.Survivors are his wife, Linda BARNETTE FRAINE, Paragould; ex-wife, Virginia, Knobel; four sons, Carl FRAINE, Paragould, Loie Donald FRAINE, Randy FRAINE, Paragould, Steve FRAINE, Walnut RIdge; two sisters, Jennie CHESTNUT, Nashville, Juanita HOYLE, Clement Fall, OR; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and one grandson, Stephen FRAINE. A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Fraine Air Field, Knobel. VIRGINIA HOBBS Virginia HOBBS, Paragould formerly of Knobel, was born in Crockett Mill, TN, Sep. 30, 1913 to Charlie PIERCE and Lottie DARDEN TRULL. She died April 24, 2007 in Paragould. She was 93. A homemaker and member of Union Church in Knobel, she married Clarence B. HOBBS, Aug. 19, 1941 in Knobel. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1989. She is survived by three sons, Sylvester HOBBS, Spanish Fort, AL, Wayne HOBBS, Knobel, and Jim AGNEW, Dayton, NV.; two daughters, Evelyn CLEMENTS of the home, Rebecca REED, Rector; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one sister inlaw; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence HOBBS; one son Joe HOBBS (1992); five brothers; one sister. Funeral services in Union Church in Knobel with Rev. Johnnie NISWONGER and Rev. Kelsey VALLANCE officiating. Burial in Hosea Cemetery, Knobel under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. Pall bearers: Joe DODD, Junior LANE, Kenny PITCHER, Craig WILSON, Delmer FOSTER, James RAY.
