Ancestry recently added Stars and Stripes Magazine Europe and North African Editions 1942-1952. I found this in the November 20, 1944 edition on page 2 NO BARGAIN THESE DAYS S/Sgt V.D. Woodward, of Rector, Ark, has found that American cigarettes can be swapped for almost anything. While the 30th Infantry Division's 119th Regiment was slugging its way through the Siegfried Line, Woodward's squad captured a German. In a mood to barter, the Jerry offered to trade three more Nazis for three cigarettes. "It's a deal," Woodward said. Then the German disappeared and soon returned with three soldiers, one of them his first sergeant. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

You really went above and beyond to explain and to help. I will write to the Piggot court house for Drilla's marriage record. On the 1910 Clay County census, Charles and Maud Catt said they'd been married for 3 years and they had a 2-yr old born Arkansas. If they weren't married in Clay County, then it's anybody's guess. Charles' WWI Draft card was filled at Peach Orchard (nice name). Benjamin and Louisa Jane Gobble and half their family just flat disappeared between about 1907-1910. Did Clay County keep death records that early or was there an epidemic of some kind around there? I really do appreciate the time you took to answer my query, Linda. Have a great day!
