    1. [ARClay] DICKERSON Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel via
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Earline DICKERSON which was taken when she was just 8 months old. The photograph is a postcard type dated 30 Oct 1916 at 7 pm in the evening and is postmarked from Arkansas to Mrs. Emley LEWIS of Galatia, IL. In addition to her name and age, someone has also indicated that she is 14 pounds. The card appears to be signed by Gracie. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following details in census records: 1920 census of Chalk Bluff, AR: Jesse M. DICKERSON, age 21, born MO, parents born AR/IL, a Farmer Grace A. DICKERSON, wife, age 23, born AR, parents born IL Earnie DICKERSON, dau, age 3 years + 9 months, born AR Vernon DICKERSON, son, age 1 year + 6 months, born AR 1930 census of Illmo, MO: Jesse M. DICKERSON, age 33, born MO, parents born USA, a Steam Railroad Fireman Gracie DICKERSON, wife, age 35, born AR, parents born IL Earline DICKERSON, dau, age 14, born AR Vernon DICKERSON, son, age 11, born MO Geneva DICKERSON, dau, age 9, born MO I am hoping to locate someone from this DICKERSON Family so that the photograph can be returned to its rightful place, with family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    2. You will need to contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Little,Rock Arkansas to acquire the needed Death Certificate's. Both Mary Frances Snow and Sylvester Snow's deaths are recorded in the Eastern Arkansas Death Index for Clay County. You may be able to apply for the records on-line. Also the funeral home who handled their burials (unless family did this) will have a burial record.Barbara Howard ____________________________________________________________ Forget the iPhone 6 1 little-known Apple supplier holds wealth-changing growth potential. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/55316eabb67876eab69d0st02duc

    3. hello, janis. i'm the coordinator of the clay county web site on usgenweb.org, http://argenweb.net/clay. i recommend you contact the newspapers in corning and piggott - http://argenweb.net/clay/newspapers.htm. they may have printed the obituaries. also, possibly the newspapers in pocahontas and paragould (i do not have their contact info, unfortunately). if you run out of luck, try contacting the clay county genealogy & historical society - http://argenweb.net/clay/society.htm. the page says 2014, but i think the officers are still the same. i have not been able to upload updates to the web site for a while. hope this helps. scot In a message dated 4/17/2015 1:47:55 P.M. I had a response all typed out but I'm not sure if it sent. Also, I apologize but I only just now was your post. The email of the original post is invalid. My new email address is ikya99@yahoo.com Yes, Warren Bowers was married to Marian Marsalko Bowers. I just learned that they had a child named Karren who apparently was given up for adoption. Genealogy Roadshow just had a story about Warren and Marian just last week. Perhaps you are the person from that show. Warren was married 7 times, his first marriage was to my grandmother Virginia Grace Gordon and he fathered my mother Jeannine, though we did not know this until around 1999. My family never met the man but we have some old photo's that show a man that could be him. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You can look at my tree, Rieger Family Tree. My name is Anna Hefner. I am married to Jerald Hefner who is the grandson of Virgie Rieger. If I have this correct, John was born in 1897. His father Joseph would have at least been alive 9 months prior to John's birth. Joseph did not appear on the 1900 census and it listed Martha as widowed. So that puts Joseph's death between 1896-1900. In 1910 the census shows that John, your grandfather, lived with Virgie and her husband James Arto Hefner. Which means that your grandfather could have possibly have lived in the same household with my husband's father. I will look at the census to see if they were all there at the time. Author: Lands83 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.clay/1313.2.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi. I am hoping you are still at this. I am wondering who is James W. Throgmorton b 1803 NC who married Eleanor Pollard b 1807 NC? I also connect to the Pollard line of southern IL and Clay Co., Arkansas through Amanda Pearl Pollard who married a Soloman Brown. Amanda's father, John Pollard was married at least twice. He had several children with his wife from NC (most likely). She died c 1830-1840? By 1850 John Pollard had married Eleanor Nellie C. Light Davis, and had several more children who followed he and his wife (their mother) to Clay Co, Arkansas.. I also noticed that at least two children from his first wife also settled in Clay County....John, James, and William? Not sure of the last one. I also don't have proof that these last three were children of his through his first wife, but suspect so. I am also wondering if the Eleanor Pollard above was also of he and his first wife. I am hoping that you can help me with this. I am sorry that you and I didn't meet earlier in life. Seems that we both share the same passion.
