I have a line that married into the Teter(s) line. Since census takers weren't always correct on the spelling of names, I'm trying to figure out which is the correct spelling. If anyone is researching a Teter or Teters family and can tell me whether I should have the "s" on the end or not, please let me know. Thanks, Cheri Mello Torrance, CA
Today the Teter family in Carroll County (descendants of Isaac) does not use the S at the end of the name. There is not Teters name in our local phone book. The family buried in the Callen's branch cemetery all have TETER on their stones.
