where can I find someone who possible attended school in or near Liberty ark? The twp listed on 1930 cenus was Liberty , carroll county ark however I am not finding it on a map. They lived in Connor as well. We have family in green Forrest but donot know all the names. Historical Society has many of the 1930-1949 school census records for Carroll Co., but not every year or every school. I am transcribing these records to be published in our CCHS quarterly. You are in luck in that I am now transcribing Connor School Census and have the records here for 1930-32-3. Below is the Waldrop names for those years. Clifford (1933) is the only one on your list I see. The date on Clifford's census is March 22 1933 and the post office is Connor. J. A. Waldrop signed as the parent and Clifford has no siblings listed. Clay Roberts was the enumerator. The other Waldrops, surely relatives, are in different households. I can scan this census sheet for you if you want. You can email the society staff at [email protected] for the later years that would likely have the other names you mention listed. They have later records for several years in the 1930's and 1940's. I thought it was interesting that we do not seem to have any census for any school district in 1945. A Waldrop is listed as a director of this school in 1933, but I can not make out the first name. It looks like Fave Waldrop, but that surely is not right. The other directors are Lee Fancher, J. B? Jackson, J. N. Deweese and W. C. York. There were 28 males and 21 females in the district on this census. The directions state to enumerate only those children whose birthday falls between March 11, 1911 and March 10 1926, and who reside in your district. CORRECTION to the below message: The census instructions for 1933 are to enumerate all children with birthdates that fall between March 11, 1912 and March 10 1927. The first sheet in of the census records for 1933 is actually a 1932 census sheet as are some of the other census sheets with 1933 records. It seems they used the sheets from the year before to make some of the records. I guess the census sheets were a precious commodity, as some of the census records for some of the schools contain hand drawn census sheets on pages of plain tablet paper. I have found other sheets that were actually from a previous year, but usually the enumerator would mark out the printed year and write in the correct year. The Connor enumerators did not mark out the year and write in the correct year.
