Check in Stone County, MO. I know that some of this family married into my McCullough line and that some maybe buried at Blue Eye, MO. At one time it was also called Blue Eye, AR. debi Kush Waterman ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, August 28, 2006 11:10 AM Subject: [ARCARROL] Kirby/Kerby families of Carroll Co. AR. Seeking information on the Kirby/Kerby families of Carroll Co. AR. I have found there are two families with a Reuben Kirby/Kerby as the head of the household. I believe they are connected. The first one was a Reuben Kirby b. 1808 N.C. living in Overton Co. TN. on 1840 census with wife Louvainey Harness b. 1819. Children: William E., Milley, Solomon H., Doasey Ann, Sarah J., Rebecca A., Joseph W. & James Polk. They came to Carroll Co. AR. after the 1840 census. The second and my ancestor, Reuben Kirby b. 1830 White Co. TN. (next to Overton Co. TN.) died Jan. 1892 during a visit to family in Dallas Co. TX. wife Permelia (Milley) Ann Kerby (cousins I've been told) died 1896 Carroll Co. Children: William Thomas, John, Susanna, Polk Davis (my great-grandfather) b. 1861 & Nancy A. My Reuben Kirby & wife Milley Ann came to Carroll Co. AR. with their grow children 1886/87. After the death of Reuben & Milley Ann most of the children had moved on to Texas by 1900. Would to connect others researching these two families. Hoping to make a connection. Also, does anyone know where in Carroll Co. AR. my Milley Ann Kirby is buried? I am not connected to this line: But from the Book "Carroll County Families" page 644 Col. 1, Paragraph 6 " Lucy (Maynard ) Whiteley dies February 24, 1860. Later Samuel Whiteley was united in marriage with Louanna Kirby, the widow of Reuban Kirby, who had been born in Williamson County, Virginia. " Kirby's listed in the Book are: Franklin Beverly J. R. Kirby Louanna ( who I just wrote all there was about above) Polk Reuben ( same as for Louanna) Routh William Polk The Kerby's James P. Don't know if this pertains to you but was what I found in the Book. Also on Line at Carroll CO. was the following. At Liberty Cemetery in Carroll CO there is an A.J. Kerby s/o Reben and Luvanna 9-Jan-18_3 At Rule Cemetery, Carroll Co. there is: Kirby, Ellen (Miller) 1833-1954 Kirby, Hoarace 1885-1937 Kirby, Jr. 1854-1925 There is a KIRBY at Walker Cemetery Carroll CO. but would not come up on the data base. Hope this helps some. Thanks, Margrett that's all new information to me. Now I have another place of birth for the older Reuben Kirby. Also, didn't know about the second marriage of Lousana Kirby. I had found her on the 1860 census of Newton Co., AR. with her children, but no husband. Now I know why I couldn't find her on the 1870 census. I hope one day to make that connection between these two families. The next time I go to the Dallas Library I'll check and see if they have that book on Carroll Co. families. Again, Thank you. Thanks, Debi I hadn't thought of checking in MO. for them, but with Carroll Co. being to close to the stateline it would be a good idea. Many thanks.
