This Saturday I plan on going to Gobbler cemetery to take photos for someone who contacted me wanting photos of their relatives graves. I will also stop by Carrollton Cemetery. Does anyone need photos of gravestones at Gobbler or Carrollton Cemetery gravemarkers? Fleta Powell Aday CCHS Webmaster
Hello Fleta, My Grandfather, Frank Eugene Sells, is buried in Gobbler Cemetery but I don't know the lot number. If it is possible to find his grave and send me a picture, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you for your kind offer. We have an new Carroll County School Location Map on our website http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcchs/CCSchoolCensus/CCSchoolMap.html And I would like to remind everyone that we are actively seeking photos of Carroll Co. school groups for our website. In the past week we have updated the photos pages with 3 Urbanette school group photos. Fleta Powell Aday CCHS Webmaster
We have received 2 photos of Urbanette school groups for our website. Individuals in the photo are not identified and the years the photos were take is unknown. They look to be from ca 1910-1925 range. Please visit our website and try to help us identify these individuals, if you think you can help. http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcchs/index.html We also have a new old photo of Antioch school group ca 1929 with individuals indentified. Carroll Co. Historical Society has obtained Berryville and Green Forest School census records 1930-1948. We are in the process of indexing and publishing these records for publication in our Quarterly. We are seeking school photos or articles and antidotes concerning Carroll County schools to go with the records. These records contain the child's name, birthdate, age, and parent or guardian name. See our website for further details, or to request lookups, if you have ancestors who attended Carroll Co. schools during this time frame. www.rootsweb.com/~arcchs/ Thanks to Rootsweb for free webspace for our website records. I don't have any Perkins in my tree. The only variations of Pinkley I've found so far is Pinckley, Pinkey, Binkley, Binckley, etc. Cheri On 2/28/07, Margrett <[email protected]> wrote: > > Are you related to Jesse Perkins? > Jesse was a Richardson before she married. > Margrett
Are you related to Jesse Perkins? Jesse was a Richardson before she married. Margrett
Hello list, Anyone researching the Pinkleys in Carroll Co AR (and Stone MO and back to IN)? I see in the Carroll Co History some submissions by Raymond L. Pinkley, but the SSDI lists him as deceased in May of 2006 in Berryville. Thanks, Cheri Mello
Hello list,I am presently looking for a Davis line that was in Carroll County. They supposedly originated in Ky but moved to another state prior to moving to Arkansas,or so I have been told. Jefferson Davis married to a Mary.I find two Jefferson Davis's in Carroll County, one is married to a Catherine Standlee, this one isn't mie or at least there is no supporting evidence that they are. Both Jefferson Davis's have sons named after them but what are the other names for the children.I have ran into a brick wall on this line.I am also looking for a Milton married to a James Davis that moved from Nelson County Ky to Arkansas.I no this isn't much to go on but that is all I know and probably all I will ever know.
Hello,I don't think this is the one I m looking for although my oe of my mtdna matches is Morris. The state of Ky does factor into the people that I am looking for but I am not sure of where or how. I know there was another Jefferson Davis and family there who had a son named Jefferson and that could be were the Morris line comes in at.I know they say that my Jefferson Davis was married a couple of times but have no other info other than a Mary was the mother of our Martha Davis and she went to Ky.We find her in Livingston County along with a Jefferson Davis,Mary and a laborer named Solomon Page.Other than that I am stumped.
Hi Audrey, I may be the grandneice of the Mary Davis you are looking for. I don't have much info on her, but I sure would like to know more! OOps! I'm not her grandneice She would be the neice if my great grandfather, Henry Morris, and the daughter of William (Jasper) Morris, the brother he traveled with from Kentucky to Arkansas in 1878. This Mary Davis was Mary Morris before she married on June 14, 1885 in Arkansas. She was b Nov 27, 1860 in Owsley Co, Ky. She d August 17, 1931. I don't have the names of her children, but I do have quite a bit of info on her parents and back several generations. Please let me know if this is your Mary. I would love to share! I may have some info on the Mary Standlee also. Sincerely, Nancy Morris Brown
I am searching for a Jefferson Davis.I found one married to a Catherine Standlee but that is the one that I want.I know here was another Jefferson married to a woman named Mary that had a daughter named Martha that went to Livingston County Ky.Does anyone has any info on them.
I'm looking for any information on a Henry Forrester or Foster born in Virginia about 1791, lived in Tennessee, died in Arkansas before 1860. Did he have a son named John who married a woman named Nancy about 1835? In 1850 Henry and the family of a son (?) was in Searcy Co., Arkansas. In 1860 remnants of this family were in Madison Co., Arkansas. It appears that Henry was dead by 1860. I haven't been able to locate any of the older boys after 1850. The daughter Milly/Millie presents an enigma. She retains the Foster name, but has a number of children. Did she marry a cousin or did she have children out of wedlock? Is this Henry Foster/Forrester the same as the Henry Foster who was in Monroe Co., Tennessee at least up until 1848 when the paper trail on him disappears? And, is he the same Henry Foster who was on the early Carroll Co. tax lists of 1840/2? And if Nancy's husband was named John (this from another unverified source) where was he in 1850? It appears that Nancy had 3 children between 1850-1860, so either John was still around, albeit not on a steady basis, or Nancy was having an extra-marital love life while retaining the Foster name. 1850 Searcy Co. Carroll County Arkansas Historical Society has an updated listing of the Glenwood Cemetery online, taken from a survey done in 2006 by Odus and Ella Fiveash in an effort to update the old Glenwood Cemetery Platt Map. This listing is the joint effort of Nancy Ratzlaff and Jeff Adams, with assistance of Jennifer Battin, Shelly and Jake Fultz and Beverly Kilbourn, without whose help we couldn't have managed to finish this project. http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcchs. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this update Fleta Powell Aday CCHS Webmaster
Thanks, Debi I hadn't thought of checking in MO. for them, but with Carroll Co. being to close to the stateline it would be a good idea. Many thanks.
