I am searching for the grave site for Civil War Soldier JOHN THOMAS KING AKA: 'Thomas' King Born: About 1843 in Conecuh County, AL Died: Nov. 11, 1881 in Union County, AR <He went by the name of Thomas> Son of William Augustus & Sarah King who migrated to the Champagnolle area of Union County before 1850. William Augustus King is buried there at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, east of El Dorado. John Thomas King's wife's name is unknown. He had children that were named in his probate dated 1881. Copied from Union County Probate Records: Administrator's Bond of $3000 was filed on 3 Dec. 1881 at New London, Union County following the death of Thomas King. Hiram King is named as administrator. Heirs named were children: Amanda King, Martha King, Bettie King & Marcus King. Thomas King died on 11 Nov. 1881. John T. King served in Confederacy with the 3rd Arkansas Regiment during the Civil War. Enrolled at Champagnolle, Union CO in 1861 at the age of 18, as a Private for the 'duration of the war'. Fought in most of the major battles of the war (including The Wilderness, Gettysburg and many others) as a member of the 3rd Arkansas Regiment assigned to the command of Colonel Hood of Texas. Was parolled at Appamatox when General Lee surrendered in 1865, holding the rank of Sergeant. His military service record indicates that he was hospitalized for wounds at least twice during the war.
