They lived in the townships of Magnolia and Calhoun in Columbia, Arkansas. This is what I have so far: Jacob (Jake) Brown was born about 1827 in Kentucky and Edna (Rose) Brown was born about 1844 in Georgia. The census reports for the years 1870-1910 show the following: In 1870, they lived with their children (John and James Rayford) and Jacob's mother-in-law (Patsey Rose). The race of everyone was listed as "White" except for Patsey Rose listed as "Black" In 1880, they lived with their children (John, Delia, Davie, Peggie, Henry, Samuel, and James Raford-stepson) and Jacob's mother-in-law (Patsey Hetower). The race of everyone was listed as "Black" In 1900, they lived with their children (Sam, Joe, and Solomon) and mother-in-law (Patsey Rose). The race of everyone was listed as "Black" On the 1910 census, I believe a transcription error was made. Jake Brown was listed as John Norman, Edna Brown as Edna Norman, Samuel Brown as Samuel Norman and Thomas Brown-nephew as Thomas Norman. I did inform Ancestry.com about this error.
