Cates b. 1884, married Bertha Brumley in 1902. Lived in Calhoun Co. all his life and associated with the Brumleys and Thomasons. Cicero was murdered in the early 1930's in a logging camp beside Hwy 167- possibly by bootleggers. His brother, Lawrence Oliver (Ol) Cates was sheriff of Hampton at the time. Believe he may be buried in the Campground cemetery with no headstone, but not sure. 2 children, James Lewis b. 1903 and Alma b. 1906. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
