He was a native of Calhoun County and the son of the late Marmaduke Rowland and Josephine Wilson Rowland, pioneer residents of Calhoun County. He was a Baptist and Veteran of World War 1. Mr. Rowland was well known in Hampton, having spent several summers with the Dr. D. F. Wilson family. Survivors include several nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and Texas. Funeral was Monday at Carruth Mortuary with burial in Morning Star Cemetery. Obituary as it appeared in "The South Arkansas Accent" 25 May 1978, Page 1
