He was sworn in by Capt. Eberhart of Company A, 4th Arkansas Infantry Regiment for a period of 12 months. The company muster roll for March and April, 1863 show he was last paid by Capt. Ferguson on Feb. 28 and he died at hospital Atlanta, Ga. April 7, 1863. At Gate City Hospital, Atlanta, GA an inventory of his personal effects showed he had $1.35 in cash and his military clothing was valued at $4.50. His rank was Private. He was my GGGgrandfather.
