Calhoun, who was adopted, along with her brother, Jordan Marion Calhoun, by James Calhoun of Barbour County, AL in 1849. By 1850, Mary E. was out of the area and does not appear on the Census by that name. I know she was married and in Texas in the early 1880's, possibly in the Waxahachie area.
