Charley B. is the brother of Harvey. Their father was Thomas Hamilton Rowland, son of Thomas. Thomas Hamilton and wife, Missouri Alabama Stringfellow, are buried in Shady Grove Cemetary in Jersey, Bradley County. Thomas, born 1822 in Illinois is the son of John, born 1785 in North Carolina. John left NC, went to TN where he fought in the war of 1812 in the TN militia, went to southern Illinois between 1815 and 1818, then on to Missouri sometime around 1830, then to Bradley County, AR in 1841. The area he settled in Bradley County became part of Dallas County in 1845 then Calhoun County in 1850. He got bounty land from his military service just north of Summerville (Harrell).
