Thomas B. Byrd died during the War Between The States at Gate City Hospital in Atlanta on 7 April 1863 and was buried in Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. I found his grave a few years ago. I have attached a picture of the tomb stone. Is it the same one? I hope the picture shows up on the board. His death and burial are well documented so I can't imagine what you have found.
