I have wondered about this other Emma myself, but the names don't match up unless the Emma was a middle name. Steve's dad was Stephen listed as married to an Elizabeth on the 1860 census. She could have possibly been one of the older brothers daughter. Stephen married a Nancy Simms in the 1860s and Steve and a sister who married Charlie Smith (can't remember her name right now) came from this union. Steve married a Davis first and they had 3 children and then he married Emma. The children were Tom, Lulie Earnest, Eulion Earl (my dad), Bert Holloway, and Ted. Steve married a third time to a Bost woman. Steve is buried at the Campground Cemetary. Emma is buried at the Wolf Cemetary in Conway Co. near Adona, you can see Petite Jean Mountain from the cemetary. Jr. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: ironheadnc Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.calhoun/197.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: If you're still interested in John Brumley I have the following: John Brumley, born 1854, died 1936, was the son of James Patterson Brumley and Elizabeth Rowland Brumley. Elizabeth is buried in Dickinson Cemetery in Summerville, Calhoun County next to her brother Thomas Rowland. My information is incomplete but I believe that James Patterson Brumley was the son of William Brumley born 1805 in NC and Mary Hutchinson (1807) of TN. Elizabeth Rowland was the daughter of John Rowland born abt 1785 in NC. She was born in Missouri 6/30/1837. You can view both the Rowlands and Brumleys in the 1850 census of Calhoun County. However, at that time Rowland was spelled Roland. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Mary (born 1839 Tn) was a sister to my ggrandmother Nancy (born 1837 Tn). William Jasper Brumley (born ca 1805 in NC) married Elizabeth Hutcheson (born ca 1808 in Tn) Feb 16, 1826 (could be Mary Hutcheson). They lived in Dallas tws in Calhoun Co. Arkansas, this was somewhere in the Tinsman area. I got this info from a book on the Hutcheson Family by Marchie Hutcheson. I remember my mother talking about an Alvin King. If my memory serves me right, his mother was named Emma and she was my grandmother Cora Earnest's sister. Their maiden name was Moore. However, the spellings are off and I do not know any of the siblings names to see if they match. The Lawrence O. Miers(Myers) I am seeking is said to have been pastor at Mt. Pleasant Church. I am really hoping that some descendant will come forward and give me some firm names. I do appreciate your reply and will followup on this and contact you again if and when I know more. Thanks. C. I think this family can be found on the 1850 census in Talledega County, AL. Image 26. Lawrence Mires, age 6 is the right age to be your Lawrence Miers/Myers. Hope this helps, and good luck with your search. PS: I'm sure I must be kin to Laura Isabelle Steelman's husband somehow. There were tons of Steelmans in Calhoun County (and still are today). I'm descended from Ida Steelman born 1870. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Her parents were Meljer Bumgarner & Mary Ann Troutman. Arminda did marry James H. Morrison on 21 Jun 1877 and Thomas Almon Bumgarner around 1898. She was his 3rd wife. Thomas & Arminda are buried in New Hope Cem in Calhoun Co. I do have more info on the Morrisons and Bumgarner family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
