    1. [ARCALHOU] IMPORTANT - FROM LIST MOM - PLEASE READ
    2. Kathleen
    3. There has been a major problem with certain lists on Rootsweb since last Friday. I am not sure how this list is going to be effected by the crashed server at Rootsweb, you were not one directly effected. The server is up and running again and I have a favor to ask each of you. If you begin receiving a large amount of messages that have backed up in the system since last Friday. Please be understanding, USE YOUR DELETE KEY, yelling and screaming will not stop it. I am holding on for dear life. I will have messages coming to me from 171 mailing lists hitting me all at once along with bouncing messages and messages from those of you asking for help. Together we will get through this and look back on this day as the "Day of the Rootsweb Flood", and laugh. If you have asked to be unsubscribed, that request was most likely never received. Please understand that even if I unsubscribe you now, I cannot stop what you are going to receive. If the lists do not look the same, meaning the headers are gone. I will bo back and take care of that when this flood is over. Good luck and I look forward to getting back to normal when the sun is again shinning. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [ARCALHOU] PLEASE FORGIVE - FROM LIST MOM
    2. Kathleen
    3. Please forgive. My system went crazy and it sent out duplications of each message to several of the mailing lists. I am almost afraid to send out an apology and have it just do the same thing again. :( I sat here and watched it happened and did not know what to do to stop it. Talk about feeling out of control. 3. As you can see, the lists are getting busier now that the holidays are over. Just a few suggestions to make them smoother. If you see a posting come across the list asking to be unsubscribed or asking for help in any area that I deal with, know that I am taking care of it behind the scenes and you don't need to worry about it. If you post a query, try to put the surname in the subject line in CAPS and add dates if possible. Just keep in mind, we do have list members who delete the postings by only reading what is in the subject line, and never reading the body of the message. If you have a problem with a posting, meaning you think it should not have been posted. Please do not send your remarks to the entire list. Let me know your concerns and I will take care of it if I have not already. If you need me, to help you in anyway, you can reach me at [email protected] I thank each of you for your continued support of this list and your willingness to help one another. I continually am in awe of the generosity of genealogical researchers. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

Her name was Susannah Rice and she married Jolly Atkins. They had a son named Zenus Atkins who married Mary Turner (Jeptha Turner's sister) and he died during the Civil War leaving her with three children. Here is what I have on William and Elizabeth's family: William Lafayette Thomason b. 26 Jan 1847 d. 8 Aug 1934 Calhoun Co., Ar. Buried in Earnest Cemetery. He married Elizabeth Jane Earnest Turner (widow of Jeptha Turner) on 4 Dec 1867 Calhoun County, Ar. Elizabeth was b. 9 Nov 1836 Walker Co., Al. d. 17 Sep 1923 Calhoun Co., Ar. 3. I have just heard about a new website has gone online at Rootsweb.com I just check it out and it loads slowly but there is a lot of great data on it. Anyone with ties to the Frisco Rail Road will want to check it out! http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~veregge/ This gentlemen "rescued" these Frisco RR employment records as they were on their way to the landfill in the 1970's as the railroad was changing their method of record keeping. (He will fill you in on the story if you like!) These files range from 1895 - WWII with approx. 250 names now posted, and nearly 100 more to come. He says if you find a relative, he will "pass these papers on to you" for simple fee of postage & handling (the originals?) I hope this is a good as it sounds. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
