Dear List Members. Thank you for participating in the the Weekend Roll Call. I am always impressed at your willingness to help one another and am especially thankful for the acceptance of those members who did not want to deal with a Roll Call. We did not have one message of complaint to me and I thank you. If you are going to post your Roll Call it needs to be done by tonight. Tomorrow we go back to our normal list activities. Again, thank you for your support and willingness to share and help one another. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

Hi Dorothy, My great grandmother Mittie Florience Byrd Stringfellow was born in 1878. She married Benjamin Franklin Stringfellow on Nov. 9, 1893. I am stumped by your marriage date of Feb 1892 for Mary Saphoronie Lee and Will A. Byrd. I did not know who her parents were until I sent for a copy of her Social Security Application and that is where I got the names. I do have some old pictures of him. But I didn't know the name for sure. I seem to recall my grandmother referring to him as Dr. Byrd but that was a long time ago. I could be wrong. I was in Hampton a couple of years ago and stopped by the court house and found their marriage records. Perhaps Wm A. Byrd had a previous wife who was Mittie's actual mother and he married again in old age? I havn't got a clue here. I knew my great grandparents well. I wish I had asked them about these things back then. Anything you know about them I would appreciate. Lindsey - researching family of Dr. Green Berry Lindsey who came to Calhoun Co. and the Ouachita Co. area of south Arkansas about 1858. Before this he was born in SC about 1802 and married in Alabama, lived in Mississippi and then to ARkansas. One place he and family were listed under the name Greensberry Lindsey. He had a rather large family. Some children settled in NW Arkansas and Oklahoma while several stayed in the Calhoun or Ouachita County area near Bearden. Green Berry Lindsey, Sr. (Dr.) wifes name was Rebecca, also had a son named Green Berry Lindsey. If any of this sounds familiar or you think you may be a descendant please respond.

My great grandfather Willis G Shoemaker married Sarah Ann Brumley 1-10-1864, in Calhoun Co. She was born 7-7-1840, I believe in Lawrence Co, TN, and she is the daughter of William Jasper Brumley and Mary Hutcheson. Sarah died 6-15-1925, in Kirkland, Childress, TX. I don't have much on the Brumleys, although I have been touch with a Brumley descendant who I believe has much more info. Dorothy, me again. Do you know Mrs. M. D. Hutcheson in Camden? She has published a book on the Hutchesons, Brumleys, etc. I got a lot of my info on EARNESTs from that. Talked with her this morning, very nice lady. Robert Mulligan was one of my dad's friends and related to Oren Williams or his wife (both lived in Summerville area). Hello all, My name is Charles Juniel, I live in Denver, Colorado. I am researching the names Juniel, Thrower and Rideout or Wrightout from both Calhoun and Ouchita Counties. My Grandfather, Robert Sidney Juniel had land outside of Bearden around 1900. I would be glad to hear from anyone researching or have any info on these names. Thanks Charlie
Hi List, I'm in Alabama, but grew up in Bradley County. A lot of my ancestors lived in Calhoun County. I'm researching: 1. Jonathan MULLIGAN, mid-1800's. Was listed on 1860 Calhoun Co. AR census. One of his children, Wm. Thomas MULLIGAN was my great-grandfather. Both fought in Civil War, as did another of Jonathan's sons, Ninan M. Mulligan. Jonathan's last known wife was Nancy BRUMLEY. Nancy's mother was a HUTCHESON 2) Monroe & Tabitha Mallard SLAUGHTER, found on 1860 Calhoun Co., AR census. One of their younger sons, Samuel M. Slaughter was my great-grandfather. 3.) Henry H. MOBLEY, found Bradley Co., AR 1850's census. One of his daughters, AnnaEliza married Wm Thomas Mulligan. They raised their family in Calhoun Co. and are buried in Campground Cemetery. Any one know maiden name of Henry Mobley's wife? 4.) J. V. ROBERTSON & descendents. J.V. purchased land 1860's, Bradley co., near Calhoun Co. line. some of his children lived in Calhoun Co. late 1880's, early 1900's. Anyone know maiden name of J. V. Robertson's wife? Would like to compare notes with others tracing these families. Dorothy
