It is possible that I am related to two of the lines or maybe there could be a forth not really well known. 1) My great grand parents were (David ) Dee DAVIS whose mother was maybe Mary father unknown. David was married to Katherine Josephine HAMILTON Davis of Bradley Co. Their Children were: IsaLee, Robert D, Sammy J, Gladys MayBell, and later another a child by another man, Clarence Richards or Risher. Don't know anything about about most of these except I did know Clarence and MayBell was my grandmother. I know my dad know them all. Anyone know anything? 2) The other connection is through an Amos DAVIS who somehow married a Maggie Martin who happens to be the daughter of Katherine Josephine HAMILTON DAVIS and Samuel MARTIN It is believed that Amos's first wife might have been a Laura Hamilton, another relation to Josephine some how if I remember correctly. It's all blurry right now. I need a wall to hang it all on. On my moms side she was a Davis. There are three Davis families in Calhoun Co. and none related. I am from Wilson Davis. His son was James Robert Davis married to Alley Ann Earnest. JOHN WITHERINGTON & MARY ELLIS of Conecuh County, AL & Calhoun County, AR This family migrated from Conecuh County, Alabama about 1846, settling in "the Bottoms" south of the old community of Artesian, just north of the Ouachita River. A number of descendants of the WITHERINGTON FAMILY still live today in Calhoun & Ouachita and nearby counties. The actual burial place of John & Mary Ellis Witherington is not known, but they are likely buried somewhere near their original family farm down near Artesian, south of Hampton, AR. John was the son of William Witherington, Jr. (1773/SC - 1837/AL) and Sarah 'Sally' Stanley. Two of John's younger brothers, James & Augustus Levan 'Gus' Witherington settled in Champagnolle, Union County at about this same 1846 time period. An older brother, Daniel, remained in Conecuh County, AL and raised his large family there.
