    3. AR Gazette March 3, 1913: Hermitage, Mar 2 - The Hermitage High School held its annual oratorical contest Friday night with nine girls and three boys participating. The gold medal for the girl making the best address was awarded to Miss May Warren, the 13 year old daughter of the Rock Island agent at Hermitage. The boys' medal was won by Marcellus, the son of J. P. Copeland. These two will represent Hermitage at the oratorical contests at Little Rock and Dermott. Hermitage Mar 2 - J. W. Shumway, an employe of the Kilgore Lumber Company, 12 miles west of Hermitage, was brought here yesterday for medical treatment. His hand was caught in the machinery at the mill and it is probable that it will be necessary to amputate three fingers. [anyone familiar with the Kilgore Lum. Co.?] --------------------------------- Luggage? GPS? Comic books? Check out fitting gifts for grads at Yahoo! Search.

    3. Would anyone know of the burial location of Benjamin Franklin Furgerson? He was the son of William Franklin Furgerson who was a merchant once upon a time in the twenties and thirties either in Bradley or Calhoun county. He would have passed away sometime in the 1960's. Known to the Davis family as Pa Ben, I remember him staying with us when I was a very young girl.
