A family reunion was held Sunday May 25, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Thornton in honor of Mrs. Thornton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Beard and grandson, Zackie Doss, of Redwood City, California A delicious picnic lunch was served on the lawn. Those present were Mrs. Ella Smith, Mrs. Ellen Hargraves, Mrs. Bell Cornish, Mrs. Maggie Hightower, all sisters of Mr. Beard. Also attending were Miss Claude Beard, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Beard, Dwayne Lee Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hayden of Bakersville, California, Mrs. Jimmy Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, Miss Nancy Smith, Sandra Smith, Fred Hightower, Mrs. Lee Ida Thornton. Calling in the afternoon were Johnny Bob Hartsell and son, John Luther, Everette Sipes, Bobby Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. George Cruce and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Cornish and family, Mrs. Eustus Corbett and family, Dwayne Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hargraves.
