Thank you Dorothy for that information on the Burkett's & Coleman families. I did check out the 2 families and found many land grants/patents in the Burkett name. Check them out at this website, you can even print out the land patents. Go to: Home - BLM GLO Records in your google search, then the Land Patent page of info will come up, in the upper left you will see Search Land Patents, click on that, fill in what state and I just put the last name, and see what will come up. Then click on the name, then it will take you to another page, that will say document image at the top, click that, then it has about 4 choice on the left, click on PDF, and you can see the land patent, and print it out.
