Jan, My dad has a copy of this obituary. This is my great-grandmother. Mrs. Martha York Mrs. Hannah York, aged 93, of Warren died in the home of her daughter Mrs. Birdie Wolfe in Pine Bluff, Saturday. Mrs. York was born at Vick Bradley County and lived in this area all of her life. She was a Baptist. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Claudia Vickers and Mrs. Gordie Hargis, both of Warren, Mrs. Ola Thomas and Mrs. Wolfe of Pine Bluff; a son, Danny York (The original type said Danny, but her only son living at this time was John Downie York) of Ingalls; two brothers, C. D. Johnson, and Jordan Johnson both of Ingalls; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Brown of Little Rock and Mrs. Della Barfield of Elk City, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral was at the Union Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday by Rev. Desmond Castleberry, and Rev. Hugh L. Hatton both of Pine Bluff. Burial was in the Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were, Billy Wolfe, Van Hargis, Paul York, Ralph Wright, Herschel Mann, Rev. Waymond Mann, and Hubert Godwin, all grandsons and great grandsons of Mrs. York. 1961 Remona
Hi Remona, Thanks for completing the information on this obituary. Do you have an exact date for her death in 1961? In one place you have Martha Johnson and in another you have Hannah Johnson. My records give Martha Johnson. Which is correct or were they both her names?
