Mr. Johns married Maggie Hightower on Aug 1, 1892 at Magnolia. They were married for 71 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons; Virgil, Hot Springs; Horace, Orange, Texas; James, Bellview, Fla.; Ervin and Leonard of Warren; four daughters, Mrs. Verna Keener, Warren; Mrs. Lois Tullos, Pine Bluff; Mrs. Iva Rudesheim, Memphis; and Mrs. Alma Sands, Houston, Texas; two half-sisters, Mrs. Eva Stewart, Warren, and Mrs. Hattie Mae Johnson, Warren; two half brothers, Joe and John Johns, both of Warren. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery on August 24 by Frazer Funeral Home, with the services being conducted by Rev. Harold Brewer. Pallbearers were Terry Johns, Andy Johns, Martin Johns, Robert Smith, Jules Hightower, Purman Temple and Frank Hickman.
