27 Nov 1913: M. C. Mann is in town today with cotton. Mrs. Paul Martin entertained the club of young married women this past Tuesday. J. D. Stedman has gathered almost 1,700 pounds of cotton from one acre! Miss Camp entertained with a "42" Party last night. [what was a 42 party?] T. C. Wherry has brought to the Eagle Democrat office a home-grown orange. J. M. Ferrell of Johnsville has sold over $4,000 worth of cotton this fall. M. L. Gardner and his family have moved back to town from Texas City, Texas. We knew it! People who've lived in Bradley County for awhile and who get a drink of Saline River water always come home no matter what. Byron L. Herring, D. A. Bradham, J. R. Wilson, and Robert W. Baxter are attending Cleveland County Court at Rison this week.
