He was the son of Alexander McKinney and Nancy Hill Ferguson. Alexander was born 1811 in Chester County, S.C. I am not researching the McKinneys except for Jane Johnson's connection. Jane was the daughter of William Brown Johnson and Eliza Frances Rowell, both born in Chester County, S.C. William Brown Johnson moved to Lincoln County (then Drew) Arkansas. I do have a dab on the McKinney's because of Jane's connection.
