Eagle Dem 20 Jan 1955 Written by Mrs. Carl M. Hall: Chief David Allison and family, formerly of Norfork, Va., spent several days visiting his mother, Mrs. Ella B. Barnett; step-father, Zack Barnett and friends. He is the son of the late Rev. H. G. Allison of Crossett. Cheif Allison has been with the Nacy since 1936. While here he attended Sunday service at Bethel A.M.E. Church. He and his family left Tuesday for San Francisco, Calif., where he will be stationed. Mrs. Rennie Collins entertained the Trustee Helpers' Club in her home on Friday afternoon. With Mrs. Bessie Rhinehart, president, presiding. Those present were Rev. T. O. Crudup, Mrs. E. G. Gilliam, Sallie Neal, Dora Brown, Chaney Cook, and Mary Boykins. The yearly Activity Program was outlined by the Pastor., The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Ada Veasey. Bennie Jones and Will Miller motored to North Carolina on Tuesday, returning with Mrs. Hattie Eichelberger and Mrs. E. C. Hammons, who reports a very pleasant visit with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Holland. Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Bullock, their daughter, Rev. and Mrs. T. O. Crudup were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Evans, Jr., Sunday. The Senior Boys basketball team played Star City's team there Friday night. The B. C. Seniors won 64-59. Miss Irmalean Hadley is spending a few days in Chicago and Gary, with brothers and a sister. Mrs. Lillie Hadley and Mrs. Jimmie visited Mrs. Carl Hall Sunday afternoon. Frank Evans and James Blevins spent Saturday in Pine Bluff. Miss E. E. Bussey and Mrs. Emma Boston of Monticello visited Mrs. M. G. Moore Sunday afternoon. They also attended the morning services of New Zion A.M.E. Church. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Brox, Jr., entertained the George Beavers family with a party in the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Grady Brox, Sr., Friday night. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Julius Jamison, East Moline, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ford, Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Henry and family of Milwaukee, Wisc., Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Ware, Miss Francine Beavers and George Beavers, all of Chicago, Miss Freddie and Johnny Beavers, A3-c Arthur Lee Grandy, all of Warren. A3-c Grandy is stationed with the Gary Air Force Base, and many other guests. 2nd Lt. Clezell Colen, formerly of St. Paul Settlement, is home for a few days. He is enroute to Camp Rucker, Ala, where he will attend helicopter school. Lt. Colen is the grandson of John Scobey. Vick News: Mrs. Susie Hampton attended the one day session held in Warren, at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Rev. Mays, Pastor of Johnsville and Vick A.M.E. Churches preached the morning sermon in Warren on Wednesday. Mrs. Maggie Webb and Mr. Leroy Johnson motored to Warren Thursday. Noble Hampton spent last week in Warren on business. Rev. Mays spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Hampton.
