    2. Would love to see any picture of the school. -----Original Message----- From: bjw <jann_woodard@yahoo.com> To: ARBRADLE@rootsweb.com Sent: Sat, 19 Apr 2008 11:06 am Subject: [ARBRADLE] Pattsville School Does anyone have a decent picture of the Pattsville School? I made a paper copy that's pretty good, but thought someone might have a better one. This is the info attached to the photo: "This is the now-abandoned Pattsville School at Pattsville, east of Hermitage, where one teacher once taught eighty pupils in one room. The building was put up just after 1900, with the upstairs portion being used as a lodge hall by the Woodmen of the World. After the Woodmen moved elsewhere, an additional teacher was engaged and the two taught ten grades in the school building. Pattsville's school was consolidated with Hermitage before World Warr II, and the building was used for a time as a Baptist church. It is falling down now, but remains a fine example of what old-time country schoolhouses used to be." --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
