Margarett, GREAT work as usual! Your research is certainly appreciated. Dan Boyett is found in the 1900 Census for Wilmington, Union, Arkansas under the spelling of Boiett. Dan Boiett 47 (farmer) Mary Boiett 46 Doxie Lee Boiett 14 Donie Boiett 9 Clarance Boiett 1 (grandson) Neighbors to: Jim Hines 22 (stove maker) Loula Hines 16 William Boyett 23 (brother in law) So far Indian DNA has not been found in the males that have been tested. This doesn't exclude the possibility of some admixture outside the direct male line or other lines yet to be tested. David PS, do you have any records in AR for a Thomas Leander Boyte? Family legend says that he was born in Arkansas in the 1850s and migrated to Charlotte, NC in the 1880s. He married three times. His children were: Robert L Correna Rebecca Ola Dupree Annie Belle William D Lenora -----Original Message----- From: Margarett <margarett_th@yahoo.com> To: arbradle@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 28 Oct 2007 6:03 pm Subject: Re: [ARBRADLE] Daniel Boyett DANIEL BOYETT I have found Daniel ‘s middle initial as W. and B. DANIEL BOYETT I have found Daniel s middle initial as W. and B. He also went by the name Dan. Daniel Boyett born March 1853, in Arkansas. Death date from his headstone is 1904. In the 1860 Census The family was in Columbia County Arkansas in Georgia Township, Daniel was seven years old. Daniels headstone has he was born in 1845. All the Census records has he was born in 1853. I have heard that Daniel was of Indian descent. I cannot prove or disprove that. He had two daughters that could have been from Indian Heritage. I was told they were Choctaw. His father was William C. Boyett, and his mother was Ann (maybe Maury or Murry). Between 1850 and the 1860 census Ann must have died. Gatsy Jane ______, is with the family on the 1860 census. From the Union County Courthouse in El Dorado, Arkansas. This is to certify that the following named persons were married on the 26th inst at the residence of Mr. Samuel Boyett in Union County Arkansas by me an ordained minister of the Gospel (_?_). Marys parents were Thomas H. and Elizabeth Ann _____ Smith. Marys death date from her headstone is 1923. I have not found Mary and Daniel on the 1880 Census, they could be in Arkansas, Louisiana or Texas. From the Antioch Baptist Church Records in the community of Gravelridge, Bradley County Arkansas. In 1894 the following Boyetts are listed, William Boyett, William Boyett, Jr. D. B. (maybe Daniel) Boyett, Amma Boyett. Someone told me that Daniel had went to El Dorado to take care of some business. He could not get a hotel room because he was of Indian descent. He spent the night out in the wet and cold. He had pneumonia and died. Good story but dont know if it is true. DANIEL BOYETT AND MARY ANN SMITH BOYETTS CHILDREN 1. ELIZABETH ARGEN BOYETT, (1873-1952) born April 14, 1873. I have been researching the Martha McKinney family. If you have any information, please email me at: racecarfan1@suddenlink.net or post on the Bradley County Genweb site. My information does not match up with Martha McKinney that is buried at the McKenney Cemetery, Bradley County. Birth years match but the deaths of daughters were much later than 1826 or 1828. At sometime in the 1900-1910's there was an old Ferguson Farm, 6 miles from Hampton, Harrel, and Tinsman, from my Aunt's remembrance, where her grandmother lived about 1910. She remembers walking to the mailbox and someone saying that there is the old house place where Grandma Josephine Davis used to live on the "Company farm". ... the old Furgerson place. It belonged to either Benjamin Franklin Furgerson or his father William Franklin Furgerson. William is listed as merchant on the census and Ben was working for his father. The questions are, what was a company farm? Does anyone know of a house fire at that location in the 1910's? My grandmother lost one or two siblings in that fire. I was told the Pete Carter/ now Deceased/ remembered a fire at that location.
Jan, My friend Irma Leslie who is Emma's neice tried to send you an e-mail but it was returned because she wasn't of member of ArBradle or some reason. This is not my line directly, but I have may have a litte.. Emma Belle McClain Clanton Ricketts: * The SS Death Index shows her death as Apr 1982 * If she died on Wednesday (obit) then it would 14 April 1982 for DOD. * She was born on 9 August 1909 in likely River Township as they are there on the 1910 census. This would make her at death 72 yrs 8 months and 5 days. * I "THINK" her 1st husband was Kenneth Edward "Cason" Clanton who died 30 April 1969 at 60 yrs 3 months and 3 days. He was referred by both names. * I "THINK" her 2nd husband was Louis Ricketts. I have no information except it has been noted his DOB was 14 December 1919 and DOD as 09 Feb 1996. Source: SS Death Index. This may not be the correct person. * In regards to her mother Nettie Lee Hickman McClain she is listed on the Bradley site in the document "SON OF THE DARK CORNER", by Henry Carl Hickman, Nettie Lee Hickman McClain (1871-1916) was the daughter of Louisa E.J. Hickman (1845-1895). So Nettie Lee, (Mrs. Charles George McClain) was about 38 when she had Emma Bell. Her sister, Nellie Blanch McClain, wife of Frank Guice, son of Joseph "Josiah and Salley Elizabeth "Sally" Nichols Guice connect to my line as Sally's brother was the father of my grandmother. Please correct any mistakes here. Thanks. I am thinking it is a different Emma as I have Nettie Lee Hickman's birth date as May 17, 1851, which would make her 58 when Emma was born.
