    3. Thank you Dorothy for that information on the Burkett's & Coleman families. I did check out the 2 families and found many land grants/patents in the Burkett name. Check them out at this website, you can even print out the land patents. Go to: Home - BLM GLO Records in your google search, then the Land Patent page of info will come up, in the upper left you will see Search Land Patents, click on that, fill in what state and I just put the last name, and see what will come up. Then click on the name, then it will take you to another page, that will say document image at the top, click that, then it has about 4 choice on the left, click on PDF, and you can see the land patent, and print it out. 3. In Re -- From: "bjw" Sent: Friday, November 16, 2007 4:20 PM Subject: [ARBRADLE] Stuart Is anyone researching the Stuart family near Johnsville? I'm interested in Lester Stuart born about 1919 and died 1991 in Louisiana. He appears to be the son of Selvin and Winnie Stuart, but I have no proof of that other than the 1920 Marion Twp census. Jann Response. I am unfamiliar with the Louisiana part of it. But, there was a Winnie (Wolf) Stuart who was my grandmother's first cousin in the Johnsville area. (My late father identified her in a 1960 group snapshot.) I don't recall which surname she carried at the last. But, one of the Wolf daughters was a Whittingham (or some such) at the last and was one of the latest burials at Smyrna (in her 90s). I can't seem to locate the reference at this time. Winnie, Linnie, and Minne were daughters of John Lafayette (Fate) Wolf(e) (1871-1960) and Nancy (Nannie) A. Brown (1874-1905), and John was their son (his side notated Santuck). Eva (Wolf) Land was a daughter of Fate and Effie Outlaw and had lived near Hamburg. Fate was the youngest child of John Wolf (~1828 MS -1871+) and Anabella Curry (1833 AL -1902). The daughter of GA's Sarah (Coleman) Germany / Curry, Anabella Curry was my father's direct mitochondrial DNA side (haplogroup J*). Her umbilical line has exact matches (so far) in both Alabama ( fr. Ireland) and Yugoslavia ( fr. Macedonia). John P.S.: Lately, I've been working on Ozment, getting a haberdasher apprentice freedom from 1671 from London's Guildhall for James Osmond (~1645-1701) and obtaining parish CDs. There are yDNA projects for Ozment (haplogroup R1b1c9*), Bell (I1b2a), and Weatherly (I1b2a). I still need Wolf tested (part Choctaw, so maybe on the Laque side? Our autosomal DNA shows some evidence of this.)

    3. The info I have on Mrs. Nancy Jane Forrest Gorman. She was born about 1856 and married Henry Harvey Gorman on November 22,1925 in Bradley County, Arkansas. Henry Harvey Gorman, son on George Mathis Gorman and a grandson of Simpson and Vashti V. Gorman was born January 2, 1846 in Mississippi. Henry Harvey Gorman married Louise Measle Fitch about 1868 in Bradley County. Louise Fitch Gorman died March 4, 1918 in Bradley, and is buried at the Marsden Cemetery. Henry Harvey Gorman married Susan "Susie" E. Gates on August 25, 1922 in Bradley County, Arkansas. She died May 11, 1925 in Bradley County. Susie Gates Gorman is buried at Marsden Cemetery. Henry Harvey Gorman married Nancy J. Forrest on November 25, 1925 in Arkansas. I do not know what county they married in. Henry Harvey Gorman died on July 18, 1928 in Hermitage, Bradley County, Arkansas, and is buried at Marsden Cemetery. I did find a Mrs. Nancy Jane Forrest buried at Smyrna Cemetery. Her birth is noted as 8-8-1856, and died 9-23-1945. I DO NOT KNOW WHY SHE WENT BACK TO THE FORREST LAST NAME, AS SHE WAS LISTED AS "NANCY GORMAN" IN THE 1930 CENSUS OF BRADLEY CO.). There are many more "Forrest" buried in this cemetery. The 1900 Census of Washington Township, Bradley County has Nany J. Forrest, head- of household, with children, Caleb, Milton, Richard, Sarah, Nancy J. (age 5), Bessie M.(age 3) living with her. Nancy Jane is listed as age 44, and a widow. The 1910 Census of Ouachita Township, Bradley County has Nancy J. Forest, age 53, widow, with daughter, Bessie, age 13 living with her. Next door is her son, Milton Forest. >From the 1920 Census, Nancy Jane Forrest with living with her daughter, Bessie Baker (age 22) Claud Baker, their children, Dorothy, Alvin, Opal. Nancy Jane Forrest is now age 62 (NANCY'S AGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTED AS 64) Marries Henry Harvey Gorman in 1925, she would be about 69 or 70. Henry Harvey Gorman dies in 1928, she would be about 72 or 73. The 1930 Census show a Nancy Gorman, age 75, in the home of her son Caleb Forrest in Marion Township, Bradley. Then in 1940 she would be about 85, and then she had her birth day on August 8, was 90, then died in Sept. 1945. I did find in the Bradley County marriage records a Robert Forest age 23 marriage to a Mrs. Nancy Jane Forest, age 24, this was on October 16, 1879, then the 1880 Census of Robert & Nancy show them living in Marion Township, on June 18, 1880. Then looking back in the Bradley County Genweb site, I found a William & Mary Forrest, Marion Township, with a son named Robert, age 11, born in Alabama; this census was on 7/11/1870, so it is possible that this is the same family ( information found under Bradley County Biographies, John and Martha Moseley Forrest) due to the state where born and age. If you can add anything to this, please do. Coyal Maxey Gorman Minden, Louisiana

    3. Hi Jann, Maybe Mrs. Nancy L. Wolfe at the very least. I'm curious if this is Nancy Lucinda (Wolfe) Pope (d. 1939; bur. Smyrna). If so, maybe unknown details were written. Some Yorks and Bradys descended from her as well. My late father recalled Johnnie Belin, a famous sandlot baseball player in 1920s or '30s Bradley Co. Time permitting -- L. D. York Mrs. Nancy L.
