Yes Larry, you are correct, Sarah E. Parnell is Sarah Emily Wilder Parnell (my great grandmother). During one of my visits with daddy (Bobby Gene Parnell) I went to the Parnell cemetery and transcribed all the headstones there. So I already had that info. However, what I do not have is any other info on her... where she was from and who her parents or siblings were. I did come across some info about Cinderella Wilder and one of her daughters, Josephine. I suspected they might be related. Benjamin's brother (don't have that brother's name in front of me, think it was William) married a Josephine Wilder, daughter of Cinderella so I've oftened wondered if these brothers married Wilder sisters. I've done searches on Cinderella and always hit a brick wall. Nothing to show me she had a daughter named Sarah or who Cinderella's husband was. I think she was an early widow. Brenda, thanks for all of your census info. Melissa, I think your info might also help. My Sarah Wilder was born 5-22-1873. Would you mind sending it to me? I haven't done much genealogy on these families in a couple of years but I am researching the FORREST (FOREST) family in Bradley County. The Forrests have ties to the CASTLEBERRY, HICKMAN, BEASLEY AND POPE families. Perhaps someone can help me solve this mystery: James Forrest (b. abt 1847) married Sarah A. Hickman (b. abt. 1849) in Bradley County on 10/25/1868. He was the son of John & Martha (Moseley) Forrest and she was the daughter of Stephen Hickman and Sarah Cinderella Castleberry. The last record I could find on James and Sarah was their marriage record. Does anyone know what happened to them after 1868? --Bob Risley Coarsegold, CA
Linda, I am interested in your YOUNGBLOOD. My Youngbloods began with James H. Youngblood who married Charlotte Early Key in Alabama in 1840. He was born about 1809 in S.C. Brenda, do your Poteets have any ties to Jefferson County? I have an Emma Jones who married Robert L. Poteet 18 July 1895 in Jefferson County, Arkansas. Do you have Robert in your line of Poteets, by any chance? --Melissa Quoting Brenda <bjburk@sat-co.net>: > Atkins,Reddin, Sims, Temple, Parker, Wallace, Burkhart, Poteet, > Robertson, Strange & Brumley.
I wonder if this news would have made the Little Rock newspaper? I don't find him in the Arkansas death record index, unfortunately. --Melissa Quoting dorothy Howery <dahowery@sbcglobal.net>: > My resolution for 2008 would be to find out where Albert Henderson > Trussell was when > he was killed in a train accident on 24 Feb, 1918, and where he is > buried. I have much of my dad's George Lee Wood) work on the Pennington family (Isaac and Jacob). I am also interested in the Wood and Givens (Thomas Jonah) families. To those doing research on African Americans in Bradley County, I am interested in learning anything I can about the family descendants of those slaves formerly owned by my g-g-g grandfather. Family lore has it that he manumitted his former slaves sometime in the early 1860s, but they "chose" to stay on the old home place. I know no more than that, but am curious and would love to learn anything more. According to Dena Jordan's transcription, there were 22 slaves in 1860, but no record of names. This ggg grandfather was the Carter Wood murdered by carpetbaggers in September of 1865; his grandson, Lee (my g-grandfather) witnessed and told the story later. There is also a letter that I have seen written from the gold fields of California in 1850(?) from I believe Isaac Pennington -- I would like to follow up on this, and see if there is any further trace of him. I have not done much with this, and hope to go through and familiarize myself with information, and begin to fill in holes. For anyone interested in archival research, I am within two miles of a branch of the National Archives and records Administration, and have a spare bedroom for researchers. -- Bill Wood -- woodbill@rcn.com On Jan 10, 2008, at 11:27 PM, arbradle-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
